    Over Reach Boots

I like the HKM neoprene ones. I use mine for xc and have done so for a few years. They look a bit worse for wear now but are still perfectly functional. The Velcro is really good on them. I don't like rubber ones so much as I haven't found any with reliable Velcro or rubber that doesn't break!

    Can I make a confession?

I feel absolutely terrible I've been given the opportunity to ride a VERY nice horse for a lady (professional) in the village, as said horse is widely acclaimed to be 'a nutter' & I don't think she really enjoys riding him/thinks he's worth the effort He is ridden in a running gag (not sure of...

    The very beginning

You'll have great fun! And no one will think you are a 'wet lettuce'! My friend is 55, she started riding a few years ago and there is a whole group of them who have a group lesson at the riding school, they all love it!!

    feeding an eventer

At the moment she has a scoop of stay power nuts and some chop at night, she's out all the time, but the hay and grass in the field is useless, she's just started eventing at novice. Recently she's started loosing a little top line and feels like she could do with some more energy...

close contact saddles for long legged people!

Hi, I'm looking for a close contact saddle that is really really forward cut! My legs are really long from hip to knee and I can't fit my legs in all the ones I have tried, when I have my stirrups short enough for xc (and that is not overly short!). I know I could get one specially made but I...

    Horses and Uni

Hi, So I ride for an owner, but I will be hopefully be going to uni next September. I've been eventing this horse, at be100 at the moment, hoping to go novice this season. she's quite a talented horse and I hope she would do */intermediate in a few seasons, but I'm selfish and she's my baby...

    Stud holes

What do you put in your stud holes when you are not using them? I've tried the rubber plugs, they stay in but then I can never get them out! I've also tried the cotton wool type ones, they either fall out, or get squished up and mud goes on top of them and then they also get compacted and...

Sharer - would you consider someone under 18?

I'm 16, and I know that it's pretty obvious to say that I would consider the person, but we're not all as irresponsible as you think! 'My' horse belongs to a lovely lady so it is kind of a share, she lets me ride her and the others, I ride on my own most of the time and I have done for years. I...

How long do you normally hack for?

In the week it's an hour - we cant really do any more than that because a) it gets dark and b) all the long routes involve a really busy road, which isn't a good idea at rush hour! At the weekend sometimes I go for a long hack, but again this involves the busy road
