    Glandular Ulcers

Long Post Alert.!! Sorry... Okay so my poor boy (Paddy) has been suffering lately & I'd like some opinions. Some background info: He's an 11 yr old 16.2 ex racer. I got him straight out of racing 18 months ago. He occasionally box walks, weaves at meal time & does this awful thing where he...

    Starting out with BSJA. HELP.!

Brilliant Thankyou.! I don't really need to buy anything new then, which is always good :) The tassels on the boots are just for the zip, I think I can take it off if need be.

    Starting out with BSJA. HELP.!

I've been working hard with my lad on our jumping & we are currently jumping 80cm at home. We aren't doing too bad & I've decided to take him out & start competing BSJA. I going to go out at club level for a year & then move up if we do well :) I just have a few questions & I'm hoping you...

    Dressage Vs Showing - Saddles

Thanks Everyone. Show saddle it is.. My wintec is synthetic & I feel leather would be a better 'look' :) I've seen this one for sale, it has a serge fitted. What are your opinions.?

    Dressage Vs Showing - Saddles

I'm looking to do a bit of local showing this year & some low level dressage. I have a Wintec saddle for everyday use so am looking to buy a new saddle for Showing/Dressage. The problem I have is that I can't afford to buy a show saddle AND a dressage saddle, and to be honest there isn't much...

    Maximum Weight.?

No real reason, it was one I was given to try for size & now I have it the flash has now been removed (I'm not keen on them at all). She honestly took the bit really well, she just stands mouthing it with her eyes closed, I have never seen her so calm.! And she leads much better with it :D I'm...

    Navicular - I'm not convinced

I'm Going to take a look at this Project Dexter. So X-rays are going to be pointless (damn just when I thought this was getting easier :)).? As I said I will look at the above & then I think I will be in a better, more informed position to discuss it with you guys (if that's okay.?). Thankyou...

    Maximum Weight.?

Okay thanks, I don't intend jumping or galloping really, once she is okay with the three basic paces, is without any issues under the saddle & she is happy in work, I have a gutsy little jockey who will take over :) Although they would happily get on tomorrow, I'm just not prepared to let them...

    Maximum Weight.?

Thanks for your advice, I don't intend on riding her until she is ready but it's just something I have been thinking about. She has had all checks & so on. I have recently started lunging her (which she has taken to like a duck to water.!) for around 10 mins or so, long reining was something I...

Future Show Jumper.? I think so.!!

Just wanted to share this super cool little guy with you all. Took the little man in the arena today on a lunge line, thought I'd try out some desensitising. He is 10 months old & currently stands at 10.2 hh. A fellow livery had left some 2'4" jumps set up & thinking there is no way he would...

    Maximum Weight.?

This is my Welsh A x Dartmoor pony: http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26626&d=1426364077 She is 11 yrs old & stands at 12 hh. I wondered what weight people thought she could carry.? The reason I'm asking is I took her on as a 'rescue pony' along with her...

    Navicular - I'm not convinced

I think if he was lame at all or had been in the past year I would certainly be slowing him down but considering he is still going strong & actually has to be held back, it would be unfair of me to even semi-retire him.

    Navicular - I'm not convinced

Yea he has been freeze marked. Am speaking to the vet regarding one of the ponies on monday so I think i'm going to have a long discussion with her & get them to look into his history. Thankyou :)
