    Box Rest Turnout

After 3 long months of box rest my horse is finally turned out for field rest. We have him in a small paddock literally the same size as a stable which we will move round every day - so small he cannot pick up a trot in there for now. Was wondering whether this is unnecessary or whether anyone...

    Pelvis Fracture

Thats a really good idea about reducing stable - might have a think about doing that! Great to hear that you have had success stories. Hoping there is no displacement, but we will have ultrasound to tell us the results.

Thank you, that is interesting. We had an internal examination already and they felt nothing out of the ordinary so no bones displaced by the sound of things. Most likely to be a hairline fracture - theyve told us 12 weeks box rest, as a guide for now. He is crossed tied as well. Fingers crossed...

Right now it is just a quarantine box so just standard wood 12x12 however im not sure whether he has lay down in this. I think I will go for the outside stable as im sure that he will be able to here and smellthe other horses, and tbh double the space in the winter if they are in for a wet week...

    Choice of stable?

Have been given the choice of a 12x12 indoor stable, american barn style, open one end full of horses. Ventilation is ok however have nothing to compare this to. The other choice is a LARGE outdoor stable, in a set of 5 however the other ones are pony stables and the ponies cannot see out of...
