Hiya! You are right to keep it plain for hunter classes, coloured browbands go on riding horses and even more colourful ones on hacks! Same goes for pony classes!

My 4yo is similar . Fingers crossed she is now in foal (we await scans), am assured that 9 times out of 10 it will help to some extent... have already started to guess I might be the lucky 10th person, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!
