I've not ridden the novice track but imo it wouldn't be suitable for a first run. As said above it's pretty beefy, big fences and some fairly technical bits too. Lots of eliminations when I was there last year, and not a single person made it round...
I used day tickets a while back, you will need a horse/owner ticket as well as your rider one. Also I'm pretty sure Strathallan can be entered online via www.bdwp.co.uk, and i always send a normal envelope and seems fine...

Depending on how strong she is you could try hacking/jumping etc with her flatwork bit but with the grackle and martingale to give you a bit of extra control?
What other bits have you tried her in? I'm not a big fan of the fixed moutpiece in a kimblewick but some horses really like it...maybe...

I don't know about Tweseldown, but registering your horse would help as you'd be prioritised over normal day ticket entries.Aslo you would be able to use ballot stickers for your horse so you'd be less likely to be balloted.That's probably not terribly clear, too tired but it's all in the rule...
