Ive spoken to my vet, and he said wrap it, bute, and just keep an eye on it. Ive done all that. My boss with 45+ years experience with horses said puffing up is normal, but to just wean him off them with a few hours unwrapped, then back on. Ill get a picture tomorrow if i can.
My horse has been bandaged for the past 5 months due to an injury and I left the bandage off on Saturday, was fine yesterday, but today it's puffed up and weeping red fluid out of his scar line, which isn't covered in hair yet.
Any idea how to wean him off the vet wrap and gamgee? I've got...
A horse i work with has been aggresive with me since monday, i smacked him for flying at the colt to bite him, on the shoulder, and hes been absolutely nasty since then. Biting, turning his bum at me, kicking at me, he bit my finger today when i went to pat him, and drew blood. Hes not in any...
I was picking out my geldings feet today and the grooves on the side of his frogs are quite deep. He's due for a trim, he's barefoot and has been for the last 18 months. He's overdue for a trim but does a pretty good job of maintaining them.
Not sure why there so deep but they don't bother...
Just thought I'd let everyone know that Milkys leg is slowly improving. He's got a pressure sore but it's still to soon to leave the bandage off. He's got a bit of thickening that's annoying me too
I was doing the dishes and i seen him galloping away. With a red leg. Most horrible scene ever. And as he walked back he was knuckling over onto his fetlock. Ive never run so fast in my life. Blood everywhere and his heart going nuts.
Did you're venter do the degloving too or just the tendon? Interested to know if the damage to the skin affected them later on too. I've finally found a few people with experience with this! Only found a few until I joined this group!
Yup i get it! How long was that on for? Do you think it made much difference? My vets been brilliant about the bill, answering all my questions, coming out on short notice and hes good looking :P
