How long did it take to bond with your new horse

Took me 18 months. I spent every day with her but she didn't do anything for me. There was nothing I liked about her. I bought her for my daughter but with me to share her. After 18 months I started riding her and I think that is when we started to gel. That was 19 years ago and she is my world.

    Who ate all the rugs

All winter I've been moaning about not having enough rugs for our 4. I was aware that there were a couple of rugs in my garage waiting to be repaired or reproofed. So today I braved the garage or should that be the overflow tack room. Well there was a huge pile of rugs. So far I have packed up 8...

    Equine keepsakes

Don't know if anyone can help. I've still got my horses first ever stable rug. Its 17 years old and really needs throwing away but I've seen somewhere about a company that makes stuffed model ponies made from rugs and saddle cloths, but for the life of me I can't now find it. Can anyone help...

    Where did the time go

My mare is 20 years old today, how did that happen. It doesnt seem like 17 years that she quite by accident walked into our !ives. Over the last 17 years she has stolen so many hearts, emptied my bank account, taught three generations the real meaning of horse ownership and riding and three...

    Cost of sharing

Thanks, thats more than I thought. Would you vary the price depending on what they were going to do with the horse. Just hacking and schooling or taking her out jumping and cross country etc.

    Cost of sharing

Just wondering what people charge or pay to share a horse. I've never shared one of my herd before only loaned but considering sharing one of the girls. It would be up to 5 days a week for the right person if they wanted.

    pink mash or veteren vitality

My daughters welsh d x cob has been feed pink mash for the last two years and we would never feed him anything else. He was very difficult to get weight on even though he was only 6, since feeding pink mash he gained weight whilst still staying sane.
