Your opinions- Ruby Walsh comments about the death at Cheltenham

Dog walking doesn't in my experience often involve billions of pounds though.... money is what makes horse racing exist. Money is what will make it continue, regardless of if a horse enjoys it or not.

    Fosse Park Leicester horses

I suggest you all have a gander at the CURRENT transport legislation, welfare leg and in fact every legislation and stop arguing!! there are separate sections relating to equines in uk transport regs, the animal welfare act is very effective, there are SEPARATE Defra codes of practice relating...

    Fosse Park Leicester horses

Again you are all missing my point, which was, sign the defra petition as well as this one. Like every page, not just this one. Etc etc. I'm not trying to argue with you guysz

    Fosse Park Leicester horses

Ibblebibble is agree in a small part to some of that, but I use one example to show what saddens me. The fosse park horses FB page has more likes than WHW Hall Farm FB, significantly more. One of only four farms that do such good inspiring work with sick, ruined and damaged equines every day of...

    Fosse Park Leicester horses

Regardless of everything going on in this particular thread it would be interesting to know if everyone who has commented and signed the petition for changes in the law (which in actual fact is what WHW does and has done since it's formation) has also signed the WHW defra petition regarding...

nightmare situation for a friend, pony purchase gone wrong.

Have not read all posts so forgive me if this has been posted already. Please tell your friend to contact Nic de Brauwere the head vet at Redwings. He is a leading authority on strangles and will advise accordingly. It sounds like the vet has royally ballsed up. There is no reason why the pony...

    Ipsos mori poll

For pity's sake, fox hunting is banned. Hunting is more popular than ever, there is evidence to strongly suggest this is because more people now feel comfortable with the idea. Things change, it happens every day. Both sides can release distorted polls any time they like but it will be...

    Cycling "Sportives"

Would also like to add that for a period of one month in the summer my village was totally shut down over 3 weekends for organised cycle events. I couldn't even get to my yard.

    Cycling "Sportives"

I recently moved to a area that was used in the Olympic route and is also heaven for mountain bikes. I used to be totally bemused by people who moaned about cyclists, I couldn't see why drivers just couldnt use some patience, and wait. Now however, I completely hate groups of road cyclists...

    DIY Liveries

I have either kept my horses at home or run a large full livery/eventing yard myself but Due to where I am currently working I have to be a DIY. I can't afford full and I actually enjoy looking after my horse. I wouldn't dream of doing any of those things and I feel that DIYers are often...

    Uncontrolled dogs (again)

Agree with YorksG. All I'm seeing is 'well this could have happened' and 'if this happened', stop thinking about what didn't happen. Put it down to experience and get over it. Sometimes bad things do happen, sometimes animals who have brains of their own are unpredictable-shocker! Why are we...

Selling old horses - your thoughts?

Faracat, this was an event horse. I won't be naming the horse and rider for obvious reasons. Happens so often though doesn't it?

Selling old horses - your thoughts?

I have strong opinions on this. People should be responsible, if you can't keep your horse till the end of its days when it is already that old you should PTS. Earlier this year I was involved in a operation that was following drugs and the illegal horse transport/meat trade. Off the lorry...

    PTS would you help?

Most responsible charities will pay for a equine to be PTS and disposed of. Provided the owner is genuine, and can provide proof of no financial means. I organised one just last week.
