    Thrush war

Just had same problem, farrier recommended scrubbing out with hibiscrub then using any spray containing Gentian Violet, so I bought a bottle of the Lincoln purple spray and it seems to have done the trick in a couple of days. Wasn't expensive, about £5 I think? Prior to that I was using...

    Help with Thorowgood saddle fit

Sorry, can't help with the fitting width wise but the standard GP model comes up huge lengthwise compared to the pony club and cob models, so you may find that a 17" standard GP is too long? Just noticed that Thorowgood have started making a compact version of the GP with a shorter tree...

Insurance... coming up for renewal... do I have to stay with the same company...

^ This. I changed insurer a month after starting a claim and continued to claim on the old policy for the full 12 months. You've already paid the premium, so they have to pay the claim. Chances are it will be excluded whether you renew or switch now anyway.

    Dually help wanted please

If he is willing to put up with that level of discomfort to get to food, perhaps you could make some changes to his management so that he isn't so hungry? Just like me, when my pony is hungry he is grumpy and uncooperative! :D Personally, this is what I would do: Choosing a time when you...

Bits... Neue Schule, Informed Designs, Eldonian...?

Sprenger make a KK ultra D ring in 155mm width with a 15mm mouthpiece, don't know if that's any good as another option? http://www.thehorsebitshop.co.uk/product.php?xProd=428...

So where do we stand now the Police can sue us if injured on our property ?

Don't panic just yet! This story has been stirred up by the press, and is very unlikely to make it to court IMO. Police officers are issued with torches for a start. The ONE officer in question broke her wrist and was losing out financially while off work, so asked if there was a way to claim...

    Cushings Test result

You might find this useful: http://liphookequinehospital.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Lab-Book-PPID.pdf :) AFAIK, 10 is quite young, though not unheard of, for a horse to be diagnosed with Cushings. Are there any other symptoms apart from the laminitis? It may be worth testing for insulin...

    Medium and extended trot?

Not sure if this helps? It's quite detailed. There are pictures of medium and then extended trot at the bottom of the page: http://www.classicaldressage.net/members/lesson_pages/extended1.html

Laminitis now cushings.? Help! Only 10 years old...

Sorry to hear about your horse. Cushing's is degenerative and if unmedicated ACTH levels are likely to increase over time, so there's every chance he could have tested negative last year and then positive this year without the vet being at fault. Another thought - if he is having pink powder...

    Manage My Horse - problems?

I'll blame you then! :p If you click on the link to their facebook page, it seems a few people have been having problems since it switched over to the new H&C site...

    Manage My Horse - problems?

I've just had a look - I could access my horse's profile, but when I tried to add a new vaccination it didn't appear on the vaccination record but did appear on the profile page, with today's date instead

    E&L Insurance any good?

I used to insure with Shearwater, who do up to £10k vets fees cover but not sure what the conditions are as I only had £3K, might be worth giving them a ring? They were brilliant when dealing with my claim and paid out on everything the vet recommended without question. And no, I don't work for...

    Physio Good results stories please

My pony had two physio treatments under sedation for back pain which developed after a period of box rest. Both involved H-wave and manipulation. I was initially sceptical but I do think the treatment was beneficial. I was told that the sedation allows a much 'deeper' treament which is sometimes...
