Sadly can't really afford a good quality leather stud girth, but have seen good reviews for the comfort zone one which are more within my budget! Would you recommend them?
Also, have seen they only come in black, would that look really bad with a brown saddle? I do quite like my tack to...
I think so! My horse is so much happier in his NS verbindend :) If you're not sure about it, you could always hire one from a bit bank before you buy one, so you're sure it's right.
This is exactly the same problem I had with mine last year! I made a similar thread - http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=351919 and after trying most things we bought full breast and breaching bars, took out the partition and loosely cross tied him so he couldn't try to turn...
Thanks everyone! Will pass all on :)
alidegg - That's really helpful, thank you! Sounds like I'll be doing a lot of kicking to persuade mine that he DOES want to jump it ;) Hope you have a great day with Reg too, I read all of your sisters reports and you deserve to!
Can anyone tell me what the 90 course at isleham includes? Or have any pictures of it? Our PC areas are there this year and a friend is going xc schooling soon and would like to know if there's anything in particular she should practice before areas! Thanks :)
I have a Frank Baines grackle bridle and I love it! I got in a sale at derby house but I don't think they're too expensive at full price. The havana is quite dark brown with silver buckles and nice soft leather, and the grackle attaches straight to the headpiece so no pressure points!
Firstly, don't panic! Just go and enjoy yourself.
For both classes, you will probably all enter the ring and walk, trot, and canter around the ring, then you'll all be called in, line up and do your individual show. For your individual show present yourself to the judge, walk and away and trot...
His hard feed is 1 1/2 mugs Spillers lite balancer, 1 1/2 scoops hifi, 3/4 scoop Spillers slow release cubes, salt and probably NAF enerG, split between 2 feeds. I'm sure the hay will be fine, I just have a habit of over complicating things, I was just thinking it might help to keep it a bit...
Going on a camp soon and we have to take our own hay. Obviously they will be in for about 20 hours a day, so will probably need to take quite a lot with us! My pony is used to being turned out at least 10 hours a day, but is quite laid back and been to camps before, so this will not be a...
I'm doing working hunter and a riding/performance pony class at a fairly big show this weekend, should I paint/stain his hooves black? Pony is grey so am I right in thinking it would make his dark bits stand out and make him look whiter? Thanks!
I've been thinking about this kind of thing recently too. I'm thinking about moving off my pony and onto horses but at the moment, funds won't allow it. There is no real reason to be rushing off my boy so I don't really mind and I wouldn't want to sell him anyway! However, IF we had the money I...
I only tend to enter 2 classes as at show, but would do 3 if one was an in-hand class, however, I see a lot of people who enter 3 or 4 classes at showing shows. It's really up to you as you know how fit your horse is and how well she'll cope with it all, as well as what your funds allow :) Good...
