    Junior BS Advice

Just after some advice on junior competing BS, everything I've seen refers to juniors competing on ponies, but my daughter has a 16hh ex racer that she would like to compete, just wondering what membership / classes she would need to look at doing with the combination of horse & rider ...

Keeping the horse in a rythym when sj

I have a question if i may about keeping a house flexed whilst jumping courses. I jump different horses and whilst some stay in a rythym others like to rush and charge off either infront of the fence or on landing. We all know we shouldn't pull on the rein as its ineffective, but its a hard...

    Which insurance company?

Our old pony is nearly 30 and not insured. They won't cover much at that age so I just take the attitude that we look after him as best we can and god forbid if anything happens to him we decide how much we'd want to put him thro or how much I'd be prepared to spend. I dread the day anything...

    Scared of hitting XC jumps!

Your horse can get injured in the field, on the road, jumping etc etc you can't focus on that too much. Just make sure that you've got a decent set of boots on and don't try to pull him up infront of the fence or you'll affect the stride. Horses are generally much more careful overt xc fences...

    Losing the connection in transitions

Hi all, I'm after some advice. My horse is a big bouncy warmblood type, she's gradually getting the idea of being more round & through, but I lose her on the transitions. My instructor tells me it's partly strength on her part plus my timing . Trot / canter & canter / trot are the worst...
