Things you've done that HHO members might not like....

[ QUOTE ] I think its an old wives tale to do with Navicular disease. However, I stand to be corrected. I do trot on the roads. [/ QUOTE ] My old instructor had me trotting on the road, was told its easier on the horse to trot up a hill than walking up it

    The Good Old Days

My friend used to stick straw below the thin blanket when she washed the horse. You were given hand me down hats etc that had no chin straps. Agree about the thick staw bedding. Stables were built from whatever your dad could find. You would quite happily do things with your horse/pony that...

Do you ever remember back when you were younger, I remember growing up with horsey friends. Parents who could afford rugs, the horses had household blankets to make shift as a rug. Anyone else have any make shift things?

how do you let your horse know you really love him/her!

He belongs to an open farm and then goes to the RDA during the winter. Ive been working with him for 2 years and hes definitely not a nipper. The staff up there are worse, they give all the horses treats for nothing. I only give it to him after I ride him, and hes got to know that. I know the...

I would never ever give someones horse a titbit, I would be pissed off if it happened to me. I gave Jack treats after riding, hes 11 and he knows he only gets them when hes good as hes used for disabled children, and he needs to be on good behaviour. I never carry titbits in my pocket, and if...

Turns out that my tom cat is a female!! When I took it on I was told it was male, but to be honest I didnt go look for myself lol. Took him for his final injection last night and just by chance asked the vet what sex it was, he said female. She is still getting fixed!!!!

    Is she pregnant????

When my dog had puppies she didnt start showing until the last few weeks and was going around as normal. Is she KC registered? Hope you get good loving homes, unfortunately there is a high chance that pups end up in new homes or rescued centres within the first 2 years of life.

I would have given Jack a treat (horse in signature) but thats cause he knew he only got a treat when he did good. There are loads of people who are against titbits.

After each lesson I do reach over and give the horse and wee slap on the neck and talk to him like you do a baby lol. When I dismount I rub his withers or blow up his nose (he loves that!!!)
