I use rubber grass mats, the ones with holes in. Works well, but works better when put down before it gets soft. 4 gives a good size area for one horse. If you leave them there they get better the longer they are there
Oh I don’t mind people buying online! It makes sense to do so, and I write so many online prescriptions daily I lose count, I offer them to all clients where waiting a few days to order and deliver is appropriate.
The issue I have is people claiming the vets are terrible profiteers for charging...
I was trying to steer clear of this thread for my blood pressure, not saying all of you are a problem for me on the thread, but that the argument is exhausting. I will say though, that by far and away, the biggest amount of complaints/expressions of displeasure from owners, are because they want...
Just to follow in from Gamebird’s post, all of which is correct, I would like to point out that this is a LAW. If a vet is found to not have the robust clinical reasoning documented in the notes, then they can be reprimanded legally, including prison time, and will be struck off, thus unable to...
I like Gallop Trojan Xtra - has to be this one specifically rather than gallop or gallop Trojan. The xtra are 1200D, tough and I’m really impressed with mine, I have no fill, 50g no neck, and a 200 (or 250 I can’t remember) and have just bought a 100 to replace one of my other brand ones that...
All legit pharmacies should have the VMD badge regulation, they are usually found at the bottom in the page - if you look at pet drugs online website that will have an example statement as I know they are legit (same with animed, viovet)
Just a word of warning about a layer of cream! And I would never have considered this a problem until I had a mishap. I love Filtabac, however, this summer my mare (white legs) was being bothered by the flies on her legs and stomping, and she had a couple tiny scabs (like pin head sized, nothing...
Because dental disease is present in every cat/dog, I’m posting a link which will hopefully be useful to people, I’ll enclose the vet link and the owner version so you can look at both, it just explains the hows and whys and treatments and prevention etc
They are American, but dental disease...
5 is a relatively small amount of teeth to have extracted, in my experience, I regularly remove 18+, there have been times where I have needed to extract ALL teeth due to disease (these are usually staged to keep the anaesthetic time below 2 hours, and to aid recovery) Unfortunately...
An elevated ALP may be caused by several things, not just primary liver issues but can be caused by other processes that in turn affect the liver, such as cushings (and others), and these things can be managed, it can be just an old age change and the tests could rule out pathology and it’s...
My mare developed a small patch of mud fever, we don’t even have much mud really, and it’s higher than any mud we do have would reach on the side of her cannon bone front leg about 2 inches up from the fetlock.m; my mud patch only reaches pasterns in one small section of the turn out, the rest...
My mare got a random wound in her sole, no idea how, discovered when picking out feet. I have to say that I did keep her in and poulticed it initially then kept it bandaged until it had appeared healed over, which took a while. I did look at trying to use field paste in the defect and scrub it...
