Basically that! they can be used without a curb and with one rein. With one rein only the rider must have VERY good hands which sadly the majority do not (although if poorly fitted it is counteracted as they produce little to no poll pressure anyway with how they are fitted). the curb prevents...
As the writer of said article I would clarify I would only suggest roundings for a rider not happy with two reins (although to be fair i wouldn't ave those riders riding with a dutch gag in the first place ;) ) but it is always preferable to use two. For those that haven't read the article I...
As a photographer that specialises in producing dark portraits this service actually slightly amuses me! Yes anyone with Photoshop or similar programs can black out a background doesn't though mean the photograph in question suits such editing!
I would show you some of mine to illustrate the...
sorry I miss quoted but having been present and being aware of more facts than still have been released despite not knowing Jordan it has left me rather shocked and very saddened, (it doesn't help reading national newspaper reports which are filled with inaccuracies regarding the incident). I...
BE were not 'behind the times' they correct wait to ensure family members are informed, sadly not all press are so respectful. I sincerely hope all were notified in the correct manner before. a very sad day :( :(
Barbury and Blenheim would both be top of my list. Barbury is great as you can sit at the showjumping arena and watch almost every XC jump at the same time!!
Blenheim is also fantastic and has the CCI and CIC 3* events.
Can clarify Nicola's faults def for Vicarage V. She was lucky to be inside flags but ground jury deemed she was. You get 21 pens for a pin if ground jury deem the pin breaking prevented a horse fall. From the photos (which incidentally i took so feel fairly well wualified to comment ;) ) linked...
I know but I have seen it happen more than once and on at least one of the occasions if I remember correctly they were listed ;) they used that reasoning (i was scribing hence I remember ;) ) I agree they shouldn't though :) But at unaffiliated you never know who the judge will be and I would...
correct lead eventually although honestly a lot will depend on the judge. The movement will read 'canter right' so technically if you did canter left they 'could' give you a zero. Most will mark down the wrong leg but will still give it a mark but they will also mark down if it takes several...
Tnavas you have left me shocked but maybe not surprised. But may I issue a challenge? If modern cameras require no skill please at the next event we are both at (presuming you are in the uk?) hopefully when it is cold dark wet and miserable (to make it a proper challenge) that you take photos of...
No Mike is quoting the law. it is ILLEGAL to scan a photo and repost online. Very few photographers will have issue if you paid for the original but they would be within their rights to charge you for making the copy.
This article explains fully...
I now comment with simply a link to a copyright article I wrote for another website. I've even taken to doing so on random ads in groups as I can't believe people have the audacity to advertise their horse with a photo they haven't purchased!!
I will also often tag the relevant photographer...
None of us know your horse or your capabilities as a rider so only you can answer if it will be ready! :) If in doubt I would speak to your instructor but I would be very wary from a fitness perspective as well of taking it XC after SJ and Dressage. Remember you will have a horse starting 90-120...
