Getting a horse to eat supplements

My horse has been prescribed Synequin joint supplements by the vet. So for the past week she has been having two scoops as advised in her usual feed of Spillers Happy Hoof. Normally she will lick the bucket clean but since adding the supplement she will pick at half and then leave the rest. If...

Activities for working with a 2 year old

I like the sound of the gates idea, and bathing her is on the cards for the next dry warm day (without heavy showers and thumder storms). She isn't a fan of getting wet (washing her mane and tail and feet etc) so any tips for a stress free bath on her part would be useful (I don't have access to...

Abortion injection and horses in season

Yeah the vet did mention that but said to wait to see if she comes into season first and that she would have to wait for a few more weeks to be able to get a clear scan of a foal, but I will probably have her scanned just to be sure.

Abortion injection and horses in season

Hi, I havn't really posted on here before but I could do with some advice or if anyone has been in a simmilar stuation about what happens with the abortion injection and how to check if a horse is in season. I went to check up on my two year old filly in the field two weeks ago and found...

    Wood pellets (again.....sorry)

I have just used a sample bag of wood pellets from Liverpool woodpellets, and I spread them out underneath the straw I normally use to test them out. My horse is quite messy and usually very wet and I am taking out nearly all her straw everyday. After putting the sample bag of pellets down for...

    Rubber matting fork

Have recently put down rubber matting and have started to use wood pellets in my stable, is there anywhere to buy a rubber matting fork to make mucking out easier that won't break the bank, as I have only been able to find ones that cost £30 min. Thanks
