Had our first competitive xc run on saturday at a local 2 phase (was double clear, slightly fast so finished 6th). But when finished the xc noticed that he had nicked both heels... i think the best thing would be a fetlock ring, but never actually used one before, will wearing one stop him...

I also use them as you can see in the pic <- really rate them, as said above, light, cool, don't hold water and offer great protection

ok, so i bought a pair of NEW Open Hind Extender boots, and there were no instructions with them so i rang the manufacturer for some information on how to use them and the advice i was given was : "Wear them as normal to warm up and just before entering the ring to jump tighten them right up"...

haha i had to on Wed night out of necessity, and was quite surprised yesterday to find it in perfect position... although it is the magnetic one and not the massage one, so maybe that makes a difference?? Also he is in reltively lean condition as the eventing season is just a few weeks away...

how long do you keep it on for NJ and how often do you use it. I was planning on overnight, but that may mean that there are days where is could be almost 24 hours (horse is at a livery yard, so getting before work may be difficult) do you think there would be any issues with that? I know on...

Need a new pair of boots for eventing season, and looking at the Mark Todd Competition ones, anyone have them or tried them? what are they like? What are the sizes like as would be buying them online and not able to try them on... any other feedback or suggestions welcome. thanks, Shane

just an FYI more than anything, but i followed a suggestion i got via PM on here yesterday, and jumped him last night with tendon boots on relatively tight on his back legs last night, was pretty pleased with the results actually, so i think i will go for a pair of the NEW extender ones.

sorry to revive an old thread... but would anyone have a 2nd hand pair of either of these they are looking to sell? (don't mind the condition)? My event season last year was slightly spoiled with high sj faults and pre season training is looking similar (12 faults yesterday) so keen to try...
