    Biotex 37 - by Hestevard

Hi all - my horse is on this but I am finding it extremely expensive. Do any of you know where I can get it at a cheaper price (currently paying £70 per 1 kg), or an alternative that has 1, 800 mg per kg of biotin in it? Many thanks.

Advice on vet costs with stumbling/falling horse.

Just an update, out of respect for your support. The vet has totally ruled out ataxia as he passed the ground tests she uses. She is thinking it's in the foot - both feet (she didn't use the word, but of course navicular screams out to me). Anyway, I am taking him in for nerve blocks and...

Advice on vet costs with stumbling/falling horse.

Hello Susie T - an initial consultation with a well respected osteo - if that had solved the issue - would actually have been a very cost effective and non - invasive way of treating the problem. The osteo was in fact treating other horses on the yard, and done so successfully. As it happens...

Advice on vet costs with stumbling/falling horse.

Thanks for your message Beausmate. I don't think so. He has changed farrier, but really his foot shape hasn't changed at all. He's been at this yard for about a yard and he seems very relaxed and settled there, so really think that there is something more onerous.

Advice on vet costs with stumbling/falling horse.

Thank you Pork Chop. I do appreciate your kindness. I must admit, this is feeling like the final straw really. On top of my husband leaving, my mother was diagnosed with cancer in May last year and I lost my dear old dog in August, who I had had with me for 13 years. It has really been two years...

Advice on vet costs with stumbling/falling horse.

Thank you both. Other than vax, this is the first time I have had to use a vet since moving him to a livery yard closer to where I now live. So I don't actually have any history with this vet, although others on the yard have recommended them to me. Of course, I will do my level best for my...

Advice on vet costs with stumbling/falling horse.

Hello - my 13 year old started to stumble about a month ago. Rested him for a month, and had osteo manipulate as it was thought that C7 could have something to do with it. Osteo did say that there was a lot of soreness, stiffness etc, but bit chicken and egg as to whether that caused the...

    Ulcer managment

Germany Jo, glad to read that as I have my boy on it and I'm hoping it is a reliable product. I agree though, not all horses will benefit from the same thing. Indeed, alfalfa is generally regarded as being beneficial where ulcers are concerned and yet I'v read threads where it has exacerbated...

    Colonic ulceration

Well, he is only on Healthy Tummy formulated for ulcer care. It is alfalfa based, supposedly a good buffer for acidosis, but I have read a few comments from people saying that it aggravated the issue in their horses. Perhaps I should try something else,I'm just worried about making any changes...

    Colonic ulceration

He's actually looking better from the ground, but I don't know when it will be fair for me to get on him? He has been on the Gastroplus only for 5 days and the course is a month so early days I know. Thank you so much for your reply. I will read that thread start to finish. I can't understand...

    Colonic ulceration

I know there is a thread about gastric, but really need experiences with regards to colonic. My horse has all the symptoms and has tested positive with a fecal blood test. I have him on Gastroplus but in terms of management there is little more I can do. He has only ever been on a forage diet...

    Very unpleasant situation.

I'm in a very unpleasant situation. I co own a horse and the daughter of the co owner rides it. The horse was bought with a view to selling on (just six months ago), but they are now being very resistant about this. In fact, I WAS prepared to keep the horse a while longer but after being...
