Hi everyone,
I'm looking to purchase a base layer for the cross country phase, I haven't really competed much for the moment so I'm unsure of which brands are the best to withstand the cross country phase!
I'm looking for something breathable, and stretchy, I don't mind paying extra for...
Hello Annsboroughlady :)
Have you riden the youngster ? It's hard to say for an outsider to be honest.
I had been riding for 8 years before taking on a 3 year old ( at 13 years of age) with my mum AND instructor, and it was no walk in the park.
Only you can know, with a youngster...
You definitely shouldn't be affraid of telling her off and even giving her the odd smack whenever she gets bolshy around you for food
If she's over weight, then you also need to tackle how much exercise she gets too, if you cant ride her then you can also put her in the walker :p
My horse always gets angry when she finds out that she's going the longer hack rather than a shorter one, horses are fast learners and they'll soon get used to the different paths, but this does sound like she might just be getting used to things. As said before, maybe you could try hacking out...
how old is she ? if she's young, perhaps you could get her popping a few jumps on her own without you riding her, so she can get used to jumping on her own ?
Keep us updated ;D
Lol ! you can only laugh  ! i'm sure she'll give in when she's hungry again, otherwise you could try putting her feed in the field to tempt her ?
If you do alot of showjumping or XC then the ZILCO COMPOSITI REFLEX STIRRUPS are good safety stirrups however (imo) they do tend to feel big and clumpy :)
