Hi, Buying a property with land ( but no stables) and moving up from Yorkshire. Tell me every thing you know about the area that will help us, please. Bringing with us two horses and two ponies. Thanks.
My cob was the same once. Lots of transistions, half halts and circles would steady him. At first just letting him go and get it out of his system got him listening to me and not hang ing on to him. Hope this helps.
I'm not an expert but i do consider my self a novice so,

Filling up reading these replies because in a way the origional post could have been me writing. No body has said any thing to me but i feel thats what they are thinking, because my confidence is zero i only ride once in a blue moon. But my horses are my joy and could not be better looked...
This could be written by me, i got my boy from judie 3 years ago next month. She was very helpful with my teething problems and of course there was the 3 months warrenty. P.W.H. who did you buy, mine was a 5 year old 15h coloured cob called Sebastian.
yep, four of various sizes and ages, my near total enjoyment is looking after them and just watching them enjoying life. I ride one occasionaly when the mood takes me, i have time and the weather is nice. He's always lovely and sane. A quote i like is " owning horses is a pleasure and riding...
How does this look and feel? Some one asked me if my cob has a locking stifle. Some times when ridden he does a funny stiff legged walk thing for a few strides, is that it?
Maybe i should try things the other way round aswell, i don't look down at the pedals or dash board when i'm driving so when i'm riding i should be watching the road and the car infront. if you get my meaning. Holding the stearing wheel would certainly keep my hands still and spaced if not...
Think I may have lost the plot. Driving down the motorway yesterday i believe i was leg yeilding as i changed lanes. Tell me i'm not the only one who's done this.
