Do you go competing by yourself?

I used to compete a lot on my own, I'd just always make sure that the emergency contact in my phone was somebody who could get the horses home. You'll find that should something happen folk will generally help out and sort the animals out.

    What to use on legs

Link? I know Equine Americas Like Ice contains something (sorbo... something) which helps cool and soothe the legs, whenever I put it on it certainly feels cold on my hand

Spreading sand on solid ground to make it horse friendly

Thanks dolly, we'd pretty much come up with the same answers (but in a much less technical way :p ) Sillysausage - ahhhh, another Polocrosse bod on the board!

Spreading sand on solid ground to make it horse friendly

It's gone down on a Polocrosse pitch and we're really curious of the benefits compared to watering as neither of us have heard of it

Spreading sand on solid ground to make it horse friendly

My friend and I are sat here with 60 years horse experience between us scratching our heads. On a solid ground what benefits are there to spreading sand rather than waterine? As far as we can see, the amount you'd need to put down to stop it jarring the horses legs would need to be quite a bit...

Is anyone competing on this hard ground next weekend ?

Yep! Hoping they get the tractor bowser out to water the pitches beforehand. Onley grounds EC usually take good care of any grounds the polo lot or us Polocrosse kids use :)

    Story of a cattle horse

Debsandpets - Ha!! I tried your Romeo! She spam me the same Richard Hammond story :p Landcruiser - was the dark liver chestnut mare called something like esperella? Think I looked at her, saw the forelimb conformation and a big crack in one hoof and walked off!

    Story of a cattle horse

The only horses name I remember was a bay called Romeo, also tried a little 14hh dun who had supposedly done everything (and had apparantly been on top gear) and a larger dun who's name when translated into English means BBQ grill or something. There were many I passed by due to their...

    Lorry lisence.. which one?!!

I went straight in and did my HGV (I'm 24), had 6 4 hour lessons then the test the day after. The only difference between the 7.5t and the HGV is the HGV is a touch bigger (but the one I used was only a touch bigger than my 7.5t Horsebox!) and you have to use a split gearbox which really is dead...
