Thats amazing. What symptoms did he have? I used to ride a horse that reared or collapsed when you put the saddle, I've always wondered if she had the same. She was eventually retired from riding because she was obviously in trouble and was turned away for retirement.
Maybe the overreach boots make things look a little odd on pippipony's beautiful dapple grey(shame they go white!). The black legs photos posted just now certainly had upright pasterns! In that case I guess extremely poor confirmation is to be avoided.
Here is my girlie

I don't think confirmation matters for a hack or riding club level horse unless you are really going to make demands on your horse which it finds difficult to fulfil because of its confirmation, for instance a horse with really poor feet, or straight pasterns would probably wear out if used on...
Good vet and lots of attention (and money!) give your young man the best chance. I do wish you both well, you sound as if you are responsible and knowledgible. I applaud you having a horse for its life, and I hope this one lasts as long as your aged mare! All the best
I have looked at the BHS website - you don't need to be a member to access gen info (although I too am a gold member) Try this link

I'm glad you have some history and have had him for a little while before this began, it does look more hopeful for you. I have looked at the video and Ronan does look less panicky than my guy did. I'm no vet but my research originally indictaed that it may be a fainting type response(Vaso Vagal...
I had a horse who would either collapse or rear whilst being tacked up. He had a dent in his ribcage and didn't even like rugs/rollers being put on. He was very nervy and I never did get to the bottom of it. He often became disunited in canter. He was hopeless in winter but I tried re breaking...
Well, if you are desperate to have a Tiger bred horse (Apparently all prone to sarcoids per another poster?) and can get him cheaply it might be worth negotiating. Use the existing sarcoid condition as a reason, because you will not be able to insure for it. Tough on the present owner who might...
