hi thanks for the reply, She practically on grass livery, just that i have a stable to use if need be, even during the winter she was out at night as she is a nightmare in the stable.
And a sharer is a bit hard as she is so green and also the girl that rides and schools her for me sort of...
Thanks for the reply,
i think i'm stressing. as i haven't talk to my instructor about money problems (as so much goes on already and also it's a bit embarrassing for me) so i don't know for sure if there's room to go grass livery and also i got my mother on at me as she worried about me and...
ok to cut a long story short, A little while ago i posted a post about me and my mare. she's my second horse but i lost all confidence on her and she's not the safe horse i thought i bought. that was about 3-4 months ago and with myself i was at a bad place at the time
i got allot of mixed...
I noticed from the hay/haylage thread there's quite allot of people with a horse/pony with C.O.P.D and was wondering how you guys manage it?
My pony was diagnosed just over a year and half ago, it's not been too bad this winter as the wet weathers helped but I'm dreading spring,
My pony's on 2...
Hay for both of mine, one has it soaked what ever the quality as he has C.O.P.D,
Did try steaming it but found it didn't work too well and the vet told me it's better to soak it completely under water for half hour before giving and feed it on the floor to stop it drying out. so that's what i...
I was recommended and just used Andrew Reilly, i found him very knowledgeable and very patience, we took a long time to get the saddle fitted as my mare's a difficult shape cob. but got there in the end and I'm very pleased with the saddle and didn't cost the earth and back.
I'm in east Sussex...
hi,
sorry to hear your not having such a good time. I'm also in a similar boat so i feel for you, but i think you need to sit down with yourself and answer your first question. as only you really can.
think about now and the long term, horse's are expensive and are meant to be are hobby so...
hi there,
I'm in a similar position but in my case i have all lost confidence with my mare and like you I asked many people, in real life and on-line about advice. I got a allot of advice with people saying I should sell and other's saying stick with her and get help,
I Think it really...
nope, both of mine reached a middle weight rug but haven't needed the heavy weight as been so mild, my mare's heavy rugs are still in the packet with the tags on :) in fact she has only been in her stable fleece rug once this winter other wise she been naked in the stable (she lives out at night)
I'm the first one i think, I was fine with one horse, had plenty of money left from my pay check that i was very comfortable financially, so after 4 years of my old boy retiring i worked out i could comfortably afford a second horse (especially as i was hoping to have one on grass livery) so...
I have two, and I've got to say i favor my old boy but i have allot stronger bond with him. but my mare takes allot more of my time and money  it's a good thing there are at different yards though other wise my old boy would get jealous of her. he hates to see me spending too much time with...
think my old boy would be a boxer, deceitful as he'd be short but can keep up with the big boys and he'd have a big attitude but would be old school and have manners as well.
as horsies4coursies has pointed out it is now law to have a horse born after 2009 microchip along with a horse's passport.
I'm not really technical minded so i don't quite understand how a microchip can't be read by all scanners. but are not all microchips read by a vet? I mean has a vet...
hi, I don't know if this link has been posted on here (sorry if it has already) i know i read about her story on here, but here's the link to sign a petition to make it a legal requirement to check a horse's microchip after being found from lost or stolen. as they point out it's a legal...
