I'm a bit irritated by Aldi tonight....
I was browsing the horsey stuff and picked up a fleece and some socks. Walked down the aisle and saw another fleece (but from their outdoor/hiking range) for 5 quid cheaper and "welly" socks (not "riding" socks but exactly the same) for almost 2 quid...
I was in the same boat as you.. instructor suggested spurs and i was reluctant as i'm always paranoid i might catch the horse accidentally or use them wrongly. He assured me that i was competent enough to use them so i got some Mark Todd rollerball spurs and they're great! I haven't had any...
I never tire of this thread!
A friend was advertising a lovely little coblet for sale recently on a fb horse auction group... She was willing to let him go for £500 and someone asked "does he come with tack and rugs?" errr.. no!
Hiya,
Just thought i'd comment and say i'm having a similar issue to you... my horse headshakes in the field and rubs her nose on things. A couple of weeks ago (on the day that it was reeeally hot) she was so bothered by it that she was bombing around and practically towed me back to her...
Thanks for all your advice! I will definitely book myself to get checked over... I did have issues with sitting too far right to begin with but seem to have straightened up a lot. There may be still some underlying issues in myself. Pearlsasinger, the physio sessions on the mechanical horse...
My TB mare and I have been doing dressage for about 7-8 months. Although i have been riding my whole life, I have never really done dressage so our progress is fairly slow as it's a steep learning curve for both of us. We are having weekly lessons and are at a stage where we get fairly decent...
Thanks for the interesting reply.
This is the mare's first foal. The sire has several palomino foals (one i have seen recently is a quite pale, cream colour). A quick google search also brings up golden buckskin and chestnut foals by him. Some of his progeny are listed as "black" but i haven't...
Sooty or brown buckskin? Although looking at pics of foals of these colours, they are not as brown as this one.
Just trying to understand possibilities :) i still think he is bay or brown
Thanks. Could he be chocolate buckskin?
I think he is a smidgin darker along his topline and has definite dark points. So could well be brown. Will have to investigate further when i see him next!
I find colour genetics fascinating :)
Unfortunately i don't have too much info on the foal's sire to hand, but i know he is a palomino Welsh D and think he is by this chap http://www.gwynfaes.co.uk/Culhwch.htm and out of a palomino mare.
I have messaged my friend to remind me of the dam's...
