Hi my friend's mare gave birth to a beautiful coloured filly early hours of this morning, foal is strong and appears healthy, but will not stand unaided.
Has anyone experienced this before??
Mare and foal are currently in intensive care in University of Liverpool Vetinary Hospital
All help...
Quick update, foal is starting to pick up today, still in Leahurst and plans are to continue the treatment and for them to stay until end of next week, so fingers crossed she continues to improve. :-)
Mare came in last night for her feed with huge, hot bag, first thoughts were mastistis, foal listless and lethargic, first thoughts dehydrated.
Rang vet and decided to take mare and foal straight up to Leahurst for checking, blood tests done, foal had 2 litres of fluids, foal has been...
I noticed my gelding's bits were smelly when I was grooming him, had a chat to the vet and she sedated him and gave it a good clean, it was covered in smelly wet clay like dirt and stank.

Hi
My yearling is due to have a hock arthroscopy tomorrow, just wondering if anybody's horse has had one and what the outcome was.
All information gratefully received.
Help please! - my yearling is due to go into Leahurst next week for an arthroscopy as he has OCD in his hock.
Does anyone have any experience of this??
All help much appreciated.
Also recommend the 511, plenty of space for the larger horses and gives them a lovely smooth ride, only found people who 'slate' the 511's are the people without them !!
My horse has just had his third visit yesterday from the vet putting on his Liverpool Cream, he is due to have his fourth and final treatment tomorrow morning. He has a small flattish one on his eye lid and a nobbly one on his flank. They are only putting the Liverpool Cream on the one on his...
I have had one for about 2 years, the company had a stand at HOYS.
All we do is break the bale open and put the indiviual slices in upright.
We tend to use it through the summer/autumn when we only have 1 or 2 horses in, because in winter we use big bale haylage.
Would recommend.
