I'm sorry to hear this magic but if your hunt ball was anything like ours, over half the people there, have never been and will never come hunting but just enjoy the social event. Please don't assume these were hunting folk, i may be wrong of course, but i do know a few girls who are very anti...

I really want to try hunting, but can't afford it! Any ideas?!

Other forms of hunting involve hounds working too, not just beagling, you just get a different perspective from a horse. Besides years ago beagles were also followed on horses. It is the nature of the quarry that will sometimes make it easier to see hounds working on foot or by keeping up with a...

    Who is hunting tomorrow...

Hi the hunt is over the same land, the only thing that changed was where to park. We normally park in fields, but they have been being used or too wet

Draghunting on foot - please explain!

Hi the Huntsman of the Cambidge Drag is a good friend of myself and my OH; who is also a draghound huntsman. Bruce, hunts his hounds as naturally as possible. He will get his runner to act as much like a fox as possible, by lifting the drag and running in circles, so his hounds have to work. It...

    Drag-hunt today

Sorry to hear that you felt there were a lot of out of control people. I would like to point out, before we get a bad rep, that 90% of the field yesterday were not regulars. The RMA welcomes all and unfortunatly sometimes it takes people a couple of outings to find out how their horse/pony will...

Should I hunt my eventer? And a whole load of questions!

I say go for it. Speak to the secretary of the hunt to find a suitable meet for first timers. You may want a meet with optional jumping, rather than going to a meet and getting stuck as your horse won;t jump. Keep your bit the same for now, she may react differently just because you have...

RMA Draghunt at Tweseldown - blimey!

Hi my OH is the new huntsman , so not 1 u have possibly been with. He has worked hard on changing the lines and also makes the hounds cast about and work harder to find the trail, hence the pace in the field should be slowed. Also it is possible to go around all the jumps if so desired.
