As I keep my horses on a small private yard about 12 miles from me I think if it works it would be really helpful. My concerns are would it get stolen, would it work properly and is it weatherproof?

Yes its weatherproof
Mine work really well,I used as a monitor while in foalwatch so it was well tested.

Will it get stolen...? Couldn't say how likely it would be, mine are fixed out of reach so you'd have to be pretty determined tbh plus you'd be on camera while you did it

I'm still pleased as punch with mine! Once set up, it just gets on with things. Solar Panel does an ace job of keeping it powered.
Will it get stolen? Well, if someone is determined enough, anything can be stolen. Install it somewhere hard to reach or hidden, pop cctv camera warnings around to ward people off, that's all you can really do. But the idea is that it would alert you on spotting someone, giving you time to go into the app, pull up the feed, and shout at them through the microphone, or quickly download any footage to be used as evidence off the camera.

Glad you like it :D

I love ours. When I'm feeling richer I'll be after some more. The only thing I've not looked at yet, which I should pull my finger out about, is if you can get the stream on a laptop as well as on the phone. The only 'sharing' thing I've seen is the squiggly code thing and I can't see how that would work with a seven year old Mac.

I actually have looked into this! And for the GO, it would appear that is a NO. The software they provide for viewing on the PC is made for their proper CCTV setups it would seem.
However, I dare say that if you were determined enough, you could possibly run an android phone emulator on your PC, and run the mobile app through that? Don't quote me on that though, it's only a shower thought. I did consider that they perhaps didn't get that function working so as to avoid people streaming it excessively, and ticking off Virgin for too much data use on their V-Sims? No idea, just a guess!

If I do have one complaint, it's that Reolink do not offer their cloud storage service in the UK. I did not realise this, but I don't think they made it particularly clear. No idea if it's in the pipeline maybe? I would like to figure out a way to get it backing up to the Cloud though, as really, if someone steals in and then turns it off, well I'm buggered as I won't be able to access the footage of the thieves.

Oh bobber. Thank you :) That's an annoyance. I'll put your shower thought to the techy, see if he can do the do with it.

Might make me reconsider getting more, unless I've misread your post - is there a 'proper' cctv monitor/screen thing one can get and hook it up to?

There is software for viewing on the PC, but it's only for the IP cameras:
https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003452893-Local-access-by-the-web-browser

These are the models that don't have PC viewing:
Argus; Argus 2; Argus Eco; Argus Pro; Argus PT; Argus 3; Reolink Go; Reolink Go PT; Reolink Keen; B400; B800; D400; D800; E1; E1 Pro; Reolink Lumus; RLC-211W; RLC-210W

Here's a link to their IP cameras, but they require power and internet, where as the GO fulfills the niche of the no-power no-internet having sites:

Couple more questions if that's ok? Did you buy direct from reolink or from Amazon etc. Does it defiantly work with Android phones? Would it work on a kindle fire? I'm guessing not to that one.

In the last couple of weeks I've put up 2 Reolink pros with solar panels in my field shelter just so I can keep an eye on my horse following colic surgery earlier this year. Very pleased so far. I have wi-fi and electric to the stables so I used a Time2 camera in the stable but no electric to field shelter although the wi-fi reached there, so I bought the Reolink, fully prepared to send it back if it didn't work. But it's great, the panels keep the cameras charged although you can charge the battery on the mains if you wish but I'd have to do that every couple of days (am I watching too much?).
I can't comment on the cameras that use sims but I'd give it a try if I didn't have wi-fi. I don't have a SD card in them as I'm only using them to watch my boy, not for security. I do have a SD card in my second Time2 camera which looks at the front gate and I found it easy to watch recorded footage on my iphone.
The Reolink cameras come with "skins", covers a bit like a bathing hat, for extra weatherproofing. My only gripe is that they are white and so stick out like a sore thumb, black would be much less obvious although I believe you can purchase a skin in camouflage.
I have only ever tried use the cameras with an iphone and I put the cameras up, downloaded the app and set them up all by myself, so it must be very simple to do!

I bought the first camera and solar panel from Reolink as I wanted the option to return if not suitable, the second from Amazon. I have found the prices on the Reolink site vary, seemingly on a daily basis and they have a never ending sale.

I bought direct from reolink, delivery was fast.
I used on an android phone, mine is a samsung s9 but anything that is not decades old should be able to run the app. No idea about your kindle fire, does that have the play store like other tablets do? you can have a look for the reolink app beforehand to see.

as hinted at by Jd if you want to be able to play back stored footage then you need an SD card to go in the camera. it will come with a vodafone sim card, i don't actually have vodafone signal where mine is at the moment so Im using a normal EE PAYG sim but the vodafone one works well elsewhere.

I bought from Amazon, as they had a deal on at the time that was £218 for the camera and solar panel. I have Prime so it came the next day. They also offered 2 years accident + 1 year breakdown cover for an additional £14 through Amazon and Protect My Bubble, so I added that on, as well as a 32gb Micro SD Card. Came to approx £250 all together. It did come with a V-Sim, which is £4 a month to run the camera over 4g/Mobile Phone signal, cheap as chips for the data really. As a side note, the weatherproof cover that came with mine from Amazon is actually camouflage coloured, not white!

The Kindle Fire question is a good one. It would all depend on if the Amazon App Store has the Reolink App available on it. Have a look in it for 'Reolink' and see if you can find it there.
I have a Kindle Fire, but I sideloaded Android on to it, so I have access to the Google Play Store, so could download and run it on my Fire, but that is non-standard and a modification I had to do myself (it's a bit techy).
It is definitely available on Android and iPhone, as the app is in both the Google Play Store, and the Apple App Store. Runs well on my Samsung Galaxy S7.

Thanks. I will have a look. It's a lot of money for me really but I'm thinking it will be worth it for peace of mind.

For the interested, Amazon have the Camera ONLY on a lightening deal right now, plus another £12 off if you tick the box:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JFWRHN3/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I hope that page shows it correctly, I can't see the deal anymore because I've already claimed it (yes, I may have just bought another haha).

Solar panel is available separately:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0798MV7NS/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And here's the microSD card I use:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XWMQ81P/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It totalled in at £228.21 for all three, whereas it'll currently cost you £256.99 direct from Reolink's Website sans MicroSD, and the bundle of Camera and Solar Panel on Amazon is currently unavailable. So not the worlds biggest saving once you factor in Panel and MicroSD, but if you already have a spare MicroSD Card, it brings the price down to £216.86, so a saving of £40.13 off the website price, not bad!

I'm also thinking I might in a few months time (if they're available again) get a Reolink Go PT (aka the one that can pan and tilt), I can see that being useful during the summer to cover both the fields they have access to, and in the winter I could pop it in the top of the stables and keep an eye on them when they're in!

I also ordered the 4.5m Reolink Solar Panel Extension Cable direct from the Reolink Website, as I needed a bit more length to get the solar panel in the sun on the back of the stables and the camera on the front, arrived quickly and it works fine, does the job, doesn't seem to be any noticeable power loss as the camera remains charged as ever :)

My Camera from 'banggood' arrived on saturday. I've wedged it in the front of the lorry until OH has time to put it up for me. I have to say I love it. So easy to use and the picture is really clear. Can't wait to catch the 'oiks' that keep helping them selves to our stuff! In the mean time I'm quite happy watching the animals in the field :p

It'll come with a Vodafone sim which is on a one month rolling contract for £4pm.

I put SD cards in mine so they record stuff while I'm not there, and I can play it back.

Very easy to set up :)

yeah. from memory they come with a little leaflet explaining what to do. I downloaded the vodafone app and i think there was just a QR code to scan. it was super simple anyway. and then sign up your card details and away you go. i have cancelled my contracts at the moment as my cameras are in a black hole which only has EE signal and that was straightforward too.

where my cameras currently are is patchy, i just try to site them where there's a reasonably consistent if not brilliant signal. I had the vodafone sims at a different location but I've just got normal EE PAYG sims in at this place because the vodafone signal is non existant but EE is fairly steady though not 4g. so you can pick and choose a bit, the vodafone ones are really very good value though if you can get coverage. I had a look at the online maps of the networks to pick the best looking one.
