2025 Eventing Euros - long list

Wow well that was quite watch! Not at all what we expected, a little embarrassing, but actually quite good to see different nations doing well and getting near the podiums. Still praying that Laura and Tom hold their individual placings.
I think people are a bit unfair saying we should have had Harry on the team. Any of the riders picked were quite capable of doing a perfectly good round. Even Harry has had bad days!
Yasmin’s horse didn’t look quite on its game today. She was having to really push it now and again. Halo went for a bit of an ambitious stride, not sure why Piggy hadn’t caught that, but that’s Xc! And Bubby’s horse just looked unlucky, like they should have survived that, but perhaps it was tired. But all just generally bad luck. Lots of people got round on much less deserved rounds.
And hats off to Tom and Laura, who have become two of the most consistently reliable team members we have ever had. They both come across as such cool customers.
Plus MJ, his usual fantastic self, and so positive and humble in his interview.

I’ve been watching it from my outside cafe in absolutely torrential rain that didn’t stop all day! (NW) I can’t believe how good the weather/ground was at Blenheim.

Tbf this was going to be the first Euros in a while they hadn't covered before it was announced they were.

Think overall it was a clever course, the smaller nations got home, and those who had to be competitive were competitive. Bad day at the office for GB team, but as I said in a previous post, this may well be the changing of the guard a bit after such a prolific length of success. It happens, and who would want to be a selector?
 
It was a perfectly good course. Quite possible to get round . Very typical Blenheim. Our guys were just unlucky, there was nobody undeserving to be there to represent our country.
And yes it was nice to see other nations doing well. I’d like to see Switzerland on the podium, and Ireland. It was nice to see a lot of Italians too. We’ll be back. We’ve still tons of talent.

(But please let Laura and Tom get the individual podiums they deserve!!)
 
Just got home from the day at Blenheim. Very lucky with the weather - much nicer than forecast! It was a lovely day out, saw every fence jumped & lovely to so many fan's from all over Europe - I chatted with some lovely Irish, German & Swedish fan's whilst out and about.

Probably need to watch it on BBC to see the full drama!
 
Just catching up as I was there today and consequently didn’t see much! I was so disappointed for Yasmin to see her walking back through the crowd, Piglet looked quite lame behind but H&H reported claims he’s ok, so that’s a relief.
