Whey hey !! Congratulations
That’s sounding positive . Hope the 2 weeks pass quickly !Hopefully some good news after allvet rescanned our girl yesterday and again today, took a number of measurements etc to compare and is confident that the second blob is either a small cyst or a non-viable pregnancy that has sorted itself out, as Main Blob has grown significantly since yesterday whereas Second Blob has done precisely nothing.
So collecting her this evening, back for another scan in 2wks time.

Blob has progressed nicely and we just had the heartbeat scan and all looking good so far
5 attempts in total including last year. I wasn’t going to bother with the last try but I’m so glad I did now. Especially as the stud is retired as of last week, so it really was last chance saloon. Or as my vet called it, desperation station
First foal for me, I don’t know how people cope with the waiting, the end of May seems so far away right now. Just crossing everything that it’s smooth sailing from here…
Mare is my very sweet 5yr old Luso x Arab/welsh. Sire is the beautiful coloured 99.7% Arab, Fames Dakota.
I’ve ordered a buckskin or bay tobiano colt - watch her pop out a plain red fillyIt’s a keeper no matter what.

Amazing! I’ve always admired Mimosa - she’s gorgeous. His owner has been really helpful and supportive.
She's just lovely. She has stayed in touch with us and come to visit Mim a few times. I'm very lucky with Mim, her temperament is second to none. Jovi has a wonderful nature too.
We tried twice, asked this question after it failed on the second attempt. Motility was recorded at 30% and 35% by the vet insemination, but the stud farm say 35% and 35%. Either way it didn't take. I still have 2 doses left but I switched to a sport horse stallion instead - Future Gravitas - she took first time to himWhat was the motility on the frozen ? Genuinely curious as I love steeped in luck . The 2 I’ve bred are fabulous.
Aww, sorry to hear this, we have had our fair share if disappointment this season and we are not in the clear yet. This breeding malarkey is a turbulent ride!Well, this is a wild ride
Went to scan today for heartbeat and vet is 95% sure there’s nothing there.
Back to the drawing board!!!
Well, actually, rescanning on Tuesday to confirm. He did think there was a follicle developing so perhaps we might have another shot before we get too late in the season.

That’s so nice to hear. He’s stunning with a wonderful temperament to boot - if foal could be a carbon copy of him I’d be super pleased!
What’s Mim’s breeding?
Yes I’ve seen some of your posts! Hopefully you get some good news soon.Aww, sorry to hear this, we have had our fair share if disappointment this season and we are not in the clear yet. This breeding malarkey is a turbulent ride!

What a beautiful looking stallion . Your mare also look super !
Will look forward to seeing this foal next year . Lovely mix
Def no foal, feck sake.Well that’s a bummer . Didn’t expect to hear that . Will keep everything crossed the blob was just hiding
Fingers crossed that this time is the one.Def no foal, feck sake.
Wonder if the poking and prodding at initial suspicion of twin maybe disrupted things, who knows. Anyway, I don’t doubt that was the right thing to do with any suspicion of that, but if it appears that way again, I will ask them to keep her overnight and re-scan before squeezing…
Anyway, looks like she might be ready to go again this week so we will give it another shot before we are too late in the year.![]()
Fingers crossed that this time is the one.
We have a heartbeat ... but we also have a complication!
It seems we have something called a 'body pregnancy ' where the fetus develops in the uterine body rather than the uterine horn. Im told it is such a rare occupancy that only one medical paper has ever been written on it, and that most repro vets will never encounter it.
So of course, here we are!
We are lucky in one sense as it is not the worse case scenario for this condition. But still we have a 22% risk of her aborting the foal.
Why is nothing ever easy?

Aw what a lovely chap, yes, she definitely needs to catch for you this time after all that effort!I totally hear you on things not being easy - everything tightly crossed for a successful pregnancy
Our mare was inseminated again on Thursday lol but vet rang last night at about 5pm to see if there was any chance to possibly get more semen today… stud is approx 250 miles away from meand was a bit late to organise a courier, especially as we wouldn’t know until this morning whether we needed to go again.
So, drove to Dublin this morning (just shy of halfway), to get me 100 miles down the road, and vet rang to ask me to crack on.
So raced on down the road, got the semen and back to the vets for just before 4pm. Mare inseminated there and then
Loooooong day but worth a shot. Also got to meet the stallion, super civil, big cuddly fella. So I have had a pep talk with our mare to advise that I have met her boyfriend now and she really ought to get pregnant!!!

Sorry to read this update sheep . Breeding can be totally demoralising and bank account breaking . Hope you get some better luck next yearWell, that’s us officially bowing out of 2026 foals… can’t say we didn’t give it a good try!!!
Fingers crossed for all developing blobs, excited to cheer all the HHO babies on for next year.
