Am very very happy, went through 4 or 5 farriers (fab one before that moved to Sweden :( ) who did a crap job, horse went lame or didnt keep his shoes on with them before begging this guy to come. Hes kept horse sound and *touch wood* never lost a shoe :).

4) what your farrier charges £75 including road nails
5) are you happy or unhappy with your current farrier and WHY?? Very happy! I would trust him implicitly! He comes to the yard once a week, but would come out for any of us at any time if there was a problem. He has sorted out a number of problems up there. And he's really nice ;)

Just a quick survey for those of you that would humour me. Almost everyone on this forum has a horse/horses/access to horses etc

I would like to know the following please

1) number of horses 3
2) location Essex, for my sins
3) what your horses have done feetwise and how often trim / tidy up - all unshod. As often as they need it - every few months or so
4) what your farrier charges 70 - 25/horse for the first 2, then 20 for each horse thereafter

and the most important
5) are you happy or unhappy with your current farrier and WHY??
happy - he's great - feet always trimmed well (imho - never had a problem yet, always sound (except when F broke his leg and I can't blame my farrier for that!), when J was shod he lost 1 shooe in 12 years etc), turns up on time (better than me ), reliable, very amenable to lack of facilities and good with the neds

Thanks guys, this is just out of interest

Someone's dragged this up from a long time ago, original post is nearly 3 years old  :D

7 ponies in North Yorkshire, farrier comes every 6 weeks. I pay £160 for 6 trims and one set of fronts with trim behind.

Fronts every 5-6 weeks. Trim, but now currently both unshod.

Very happy, very professional and caring.
