Ive got a new instructor and told her where I want to get too and I didnt get laughed at -thats a first! This is the second time i've had her and the difference is just amazing. She noticed all my horrible habits i've picked up from not having lessons and how we were both pretty much at war constantly through my negative and bad riding. So although im currently competing at novice level we have gone back to very basics i.e. how to actually ride a circle for the next few weeks. But through me improving my riding in the space of 45 minutes has secretly(sp?) improved the horse underneath without me doing anything to him. We are doing the proper bd path now and scales of training and its all coming together so quickly already and she actually thinks we could get quite far. Ive never had such a positive instructor its usually a bit of a pfff he is 13.3 and youre 5ft5 - get something bigger, but now I am so positive about us both :D I could ramble on all day about how it was but I will just post pics instead :p The low hands were for a reason by the way :p

Please note - we have moving hocks!! :D He has had back/si/hock problems in the past but since being on suppleaze gold, working more, and getting muscle he can actually lift and swing through his back end.

Also please note - the grey matchy, yay or nay? Im undecided...

What an extremely smart little pony you have there, love NFs! Don't have any CC as I'm not qualified to say that sort of thing but he looks wonderful, and the grey matchy matchy really suits him!

Thankyou bm - yes believe it or not he is only 13.3! And I'm 5ft5 so not exactly short but he rides like a 16hh so I never look like a pony squisher :D

Thanks hamper :) he does do the breed justice as don't often see 'well schooled' nf ponies :)

He's lovely! Think you both need a re-measure though- looks at least 15h if you are 5.5!

Nice to see someone smiling in a stressage lesson ;)

Thumbs up for the grey matchy, and your little horse suits you down to the ground. I'm 5'9" and ride from 14.2 - 15.1hh; if the pony fits........

He looks fab :) Can't believe he's only 13.3hh though  I always thought he was about 14.3hh!

If you're not sure on the matchy send it to me :p :D

He is so similar to the NF at work, ours doesn't go anywhere near as well though!

He looks good, glad you have found an instructor who suits you and is encouraging. Also lovely to hear you happy again after your despondent post a few weeks ago :( 71% is really good! Onwards and upwards :)

Thankyou guys :D

Aaha thanks for the kind donation d_d, it's clearly made doug want to be like dee :D

Clear light - yes I really feel I've found someone who understand us. She knows what I want and no messing, it's a blo0dy hard workout though! I was dying after 10 minutes! He has going to be 10 in may, had him since a 3 year old :)

Haha I bet no one believes me on our heights :p I will take a pic of me standing next to him :p

Pil- it does make all the difference. I was just feeling down about his hock issues and whether we had already reached our limits, but we aren't even half way there, instructor said when working properly through his body you would never ever think there is anything wrong with him :D

I think the grey works well and you two look brill together.

Would be interested to know what this wonderful teacher told you about riding a circle. Please share?

Gorgeous pony. He looks strong and fit and exceptionally well. Another 'can't believe he's a 13 hander'! With this new instructor supporting you, you both look like you've got all the ability to go from strength to strength. And whilst I love the Anky set, I don't think the colour is quite right for a ginger pony. Good excuse to buy another set though hey!

Clarac - thankyou :) I'm going to make myself sound really dumb for not knowing this haha. But the circle has 4 points so ride the circle as if it's a diamond and look ahead to each point on the circle and it'll make you ride a circle :D

What colour shall I decorate him in next? Chestnuts don't suit any colour :( I want a colour from the new anky but nothing suits him apart from the blue which is almost the same as his petrol colour set.
