So, it's my birthday today, and as a special treat my parents are treating me to £100 towards a bridle of my choice (obviously I can do more expensive but I pay for the rest) because currently Jojo is in a hodge-podge of other bridles and I don't feel like she's particularly comfortable in her hodge-podge frankenbridle and now that she's competing more seriously and doing more lessons I feel like it's time for a properly nice bridle for her.
For the past few months I have been debating on whether to try an anatomical bridle for her. My chiro has already said she's stiff through the poll, plus she is quite resistant in the contact and she does tend to finish a ride and rub her face on her leg (which I've recently found out is a sign that a horse is uncomfortable in their bridle)
I feel like something that's cut back a bit around the ears might suit her, but you just don't hear a lot about people using anatomic bridles on Welshies so I was struggling to find what other people might recommend for her head shape!
For added info her main discipline is dressage and her current frankenbridle is basically a simple flat noseband hunter bridle. She has been tried in a grackle noseband and a standard cavesson with a flash and there was no difference in her way of going or her after-ride tendencies
(Picture for example of current bridle)
