Crosskennan Lane, Donkey Sanctuary are the lead charities in the removal and care of these horses.
Crosskennan in particular are already at breaking point and were full up before this scandal broke, please, please, please send them any spare pennies you can to both them and the DS.

If people know anything privately about this case, please keep it clean and off the forum/out of the public domain for now, tell the charities, tell the police, so they can put a case together, nothing but nothing can jeopardise a conviction in this case.

hear, hear, the charities need to publicise in the hope of donations, particularly in the present climate when they are all at breaking point. But the enforcement bodies need any information to be given to them and kept confidential, so as not to jeopardise the case.

Bump - guys, this may not be happening in England, but it is happening in the UK, an hour's flight from Heathrow, not a million miles away, and it is very, very serious, please do anything at all that you can x

What Cave Canem said. A couple of HHO members have very kindly given donations to Crosskennan for artwork I've done, which I, and I'm sure they, very much appreciate.

We were horrified when this came to light, when the appeal for homes (temporary or permanent) came out. Crosskennan deserve so much recognition for the work they do anyway, please if anyone can donate even the smallest amount, do so. It is very, VERY much needed.

Please if you have any spare cash donate to Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary, the ones still alive are going to need weeks of nursing care if they are to recover.
As above--no names, make sure a prosecution can be achieved.

What would be also appreciated, is, that if you have empty stables or an empty barn, Please let Crosskennan know as soon as possible. It would be better if there was no other equines on the premises, until such time as these horses and ponies are given the all clear by the vets as per infectious diseases. Crosskennan are desperate for space, please please try and help this way to.

BUMP

This has to be paid attention to - these horses are/were part of the dealing merry-go-round between Ireland and the UK.

It's not just another distant disaster, it could be a horse any one of you has part exchanged recently.

Please help Crosskennan, and think long and hard about the horses you plan to pass on or plan to breed.

Can't help thinking if this had happened in the home counties, it would not keep slumping to page three :( oh well, perhaps I am just being cynical.
As you say Changes, without going into too much detail, I'd say this will be closer to home for more people than they think!!!

It's shocking and I fear just the tip of the iceberg with the financial crisis spiralling downward... Please support the genuine horse charities

agree with you CaveCanem, it does seem to be getting pushed under the carpet, even allowing for the "heavy news period" we are in, but as long as the b*****d or s get their due deserts for this, and do not get away with being "mentally depressed" I do not care, I just want him (or her) to be named, shamed and hopefully be put away for a long time and all his (or her) assests be frozen and would it not be great if they were given to charity.

Very sad. :(

Sounds like another dealer/horder who'd rather let their animals starve than seek help or lower the prices  There was a similar case not too far from where I live.

Poor mites. Lets hope they have a speedy recovery and find loving homes.

Donated, and bump bump bump.
Will post on facebook.
This kind of thing makes me feel so sad/guilty on behalf of all humans who cause this suffering who clearly feel no remorse at all.
