I was a 'bit' concerned when the pony turned its bum on the child! And somewhere near the end there was a foreleg that got rather too close for comfort too.
Link worked for me - video is called CUTEST VIDEO EVER!!! "One Year Old Baby Running and Playing w Miniature Horse!"
Oh, just seen someone has managed to post the video as part of their reply! Very clever!
My mum was outraged when I wasn't overly sympathetic when there was a story on the TV where a child was kicked by a yearling (very similar circumstances to the video it seemed). Whilst it is horrific when a child is hurt, horses rarely kick without warning, and why was such a young child out of arms reach when near a horse!
I cant believe how stupid some people are....that child could have been seriously injured....also why is the pony in a garden with no other equines..i hope it doesn't live there on its own....that's the trouble people can buy these little ponies for less than it cost to get a dog and they have no idea how to look after them properly.. I think they need a visit from a horse welfare organisation
That made my blood run cold! Nothing short of idiotic on the part of the parents. They're lucky that little girl wasn't seriously injured or even killed. Pony gave plenty of warnings. My goodness, the utter stupidity of people astounds me sometimes!
Oooh, made me feel sick, just waiting for the inevitable to happen. I can only presume the adults have no idea of horse behaviour and how very lucky their child was.
I thought the vid I watched the other day of a toddler in a baby walker thing on wheels, leading a Shetland up and down the yard was bad. But this one is just awful, so many scary moments!!
Any child of mine will be stuck like glue to my side when around even my own horse, who I trust with my life. They're big animals, after all, and if you can't understand their body language then you shouldn't be handling them - in my opinion.
These parents should have taken their child away as soon as the pony showed them that he was uncomfortable. If the parent's can't identify the warning signs, then how on earth is a small child supposed to?!
Had a couple of heart-in-my-throat moments watching this. Along with the obvious, I don't think somewhat uncoordinated babies and somewhat uncoordinated foals mix that well. The foal playing could be dangerous enough, never mind the actual behaviour displayed!
I got the impression that the parents don't have knowledge of horses watching that video, very very lucky the child didn't get injured. If they do, can't believe how stupid they are!
Obviously the non horse people think it is cute, the fact of the matter is any horse big or small can do damage and this cute little chap to a kid that small is like a 16 hh horse kicking us.
How can a parent or parents think it is ok to let a kid muck about with a pony which could kick it in the head. The mind boggles really and how that little pony did not choose to actually kick the kid is amazing. Must be a nice pony not to kickout when it could when the kid is running round totally uncontrolled and not supervised.
I just had to grit teeth when the bum was turned in a warning, did these people buy it as a cute kitten or what??? They need to learn the language of Equus
then they might not be so stupid
They obviously won't give up until the child gets kicked stepped on or knocked over!!! I wouldn't let a child of that age play with my Beardie dog that way!
OMFG, I could barely watch that. The parent/guardian of the child needs a reality check!!!!! There's no way my kids would be "playing" with my foals as shown in video. I thought the foreleg actually caught the childs arm at the end.
