Yes, am off to Cyprus full time, hopefully, soon.
Will not, though, be taking any horses as I can’t face the vet situation there, which is like going back several decades to point of needing to be able to IV your own horse.
Will be getting a horsey fix out there as I have friends with horses, and all being well, my current sharer here, is taking mine on loan.
Have had beyond enough of the grey, wet and cold weather. And, generally the country here has lost the Plot, Imho, over many things.

France is best it is a big horse nation with Government grants and many speccialist vets

With a wide variety of geography and weather...

Normandy coast: can you see the other side of the bay? No: it's raining. Yes: it's not raining yet

Brittany coast: tide coming in, rain. Tide going out: rain. High tide, drizzle. Low tide, drizzle. 8 August, sun instead of drizzle.

Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur: February and March, torrential rain three days out of five. Rest of the year, wildfires.

Cévennes: just Google "événement cévenol"...

Paris and surrounding region: there's a good reason why it's called "bassin parisien"... "Pot de chambre de l'Europe".

I live in the Paris area, (north west of Paris) and yes the weather is not wonderful but we have never had disasters in all the years I have lived here. So I think a pretty safe bet. Horses were at Chantilly and never any real problems weather wise.

Interesting that Cyprus would be your choice because the UK has problems, when Cyprus is still technically at war and the UK has a military presence there to keep the peace (among other uses).

I wouldn't want to move abroad .It would be nice to be able to afford to pay for an house sitter and just take off at a day or 2's notice somewhere warm and sunny when I just feel I have had enough of the rain .
I have an excellent house/ animal sitter but she gets really booked up I need to schedule months in advance.
We always book a week in the sun end of October early November and 2 weeks in the Caribbean in January but they are scheduled in many months in advance.
I would just love to take off with little notice when I feel the weather is dragging me down but with dogs and horses it's not going to happen.

Yes there was that storm but it was not terrible for me on a personal level, lots of roads blocked by trees having fallen on them but I do not remember it as being frightening.

Old adage “grass is always greener on the other side”. I think many peoples perceptions of moving abroad aren’t based on real daily working life.
Don’t know about that 🤣 I’m in the UK at the moment and very much looking forward to getting back to this. Though that said, does living in the sun outweigh the shame of probably living under trump power? Maybe not.

Cyprus is my choice for many reasons.
I am fully aware of the occupation of the Northern side, and that is an emotive topic.
Sadly, it doesn’t look to be able to be resolved, but that doesn’t dim my love of the country and it’s people.
