Anything like these boots?

No, surely ester is thinking about the spoilt one who demanded the squirrel...

ETA: apologies OP, I have no suggestions as don't take your size of shoe :p I have some Ariats in black which are amazing, and I wear them to compete sometimes, though obviously not with blue and black chaps

Thanks, tbh I think Ariats do have stuff in my size, however they are again rather pricey. Have to say again that they do look damn great though!

you what? You returned after 2.5 years after a previous flounce to reply to those worth replying to?

I thought my initial post was pretty helpful actually, given that you wanted value for money and I was saying I have had those boots for nearly 15 years. Obviously you don't think so. I don't see why questioning a quote I clearly didn't even take the time to read properly makes me mates with Lev!

What's not helpful is you've now started contributing towards Lév's cause which is to troll and cause grief, please stop that.

The squirrel??!! I don’t remember that, and I only watched it at Christmas! I was thinking of the Violet link - as I recall she turned a wonderful colour in the film when she chewed gum? :D

I don't think I even want to know WTF you're talking about. By the way guys, this is going way off topic and getting out of hand, I've already asked for it to cease, I won't ask again.

I am not contributing to anyone's cause, I am joining in a conversation given that we seem to have concluded that you have sorted your own boots out. That tends to happen when threads are sort of concluded they go off course, it's rarely personal.

It's squirrels and nuts in the book, geese and eggs in the film.

the gum was special a meal in one gum which was untested but... well... and she was ok until she got to dessert!

Actually I haven't, quite far from it, not even sure what I've said to even suggest that I had, I just simply grew tired of the crap I was receiving both boots and those who wanted to get on their high horse about it all, pun intended.

Oh you refer to the gum that the young girl stole from the experiment area, now I get it and finally understood the squirrel reference.. lol. Still, not sure what this has to do with anything really, just another child's novel I have outgrown. Infact I never really cared for it as such, my sister was more into it, though there was alot of valuable lessons to learn from that story I suppose, which I appreciate more really. However it would seem some people just never learn from anything and unfortunately carry that with them into adulthood and ruin society for the rest of us.

Tbf, if I had to pick a fruit to be, I think a blueberry would be pretty high up my list. Definitely either that or a raspberry I think

I wouldn't want my seeds on the outside like a strawb to be sure, too naked feeling.

Of course - it was blueberry pie wasn’t it, hence the funny colour. It’s a bit of a weird
film :)

a bit.... just a bit!?

It always seems odder in film version to me than it ever did reading the books.

Ok, I agree, it is very very weird :) and that is both versions in their own way - Tim Burton’s film is bound to be odd, but the Gene Wilder version gave me the creeps....

*sighs* once again still contributing.. Looks like I'll have to request this thread to be closed, thanks guys, real mature. And not so much this time regarding trolling but simply going off topic which you were all asked to stop. This is not the thread to make silly comments regarding childrens literature, go make your own for that.

I just think OP has recently discovered formatting and embedded links and wants to show off.

Sorry OP I know that's mean, it is said in jest (mainly because your style is quite different). There have been some sensible suggestions, as well as some banter and some off topic chat. It's how this forum tends to run. Hope you have found the answer you want.

I've only seen the Gene Wilder version :). Tim Burton stuff just doesn't do it for me, and Im not a big film goer anyway.

Taishi, admin aren't big into closing threads round here unless rules are being broken, you are of course free to ask but they usually suggest to just to unfollow it.

Back on topic OP - you could buy the boots you like and then colour them with a permanent marker...? It probably won't look exactly the same as black leather, but should match close enough for casual use

No I haven't and that's the problem, and this is just getting rather annoying. As for formatting and embedding links? I always knew how to do that, I used to be a web page designer so hell I knew how to do it in HTML format well before I knew commands for forums, infact I used to write the code for em so eh.... that stuff is child's play really.

yes fwiw the reason I asked how much tread you wanted (but didn't get an answer) was because of these, but they have a much more riding tread on them than the one you posted. But heck I'll link them anyway, I'd suspect you could find them cheaper too.

Someone please explain to me what FWIW means..?

That isn't even remotely funny.. infact dye would work much better :-P

Reminds me of the song about boots by Nancy Sinatra, what was it called? Ahh yes,
‘these boots are made for flouncing.’

FWIW is an abbreviation of "for what it's worth"

I wasn't joking. Just offering an alternative solution to your spec. I think dye would be a bit messy

FWIW is a pretty standard forum acronym

Have you tried Mumsnet?

Naw, too motherly and parenting certainly ain't my thing lol. Although those kind of sites are sometimes helpful and informative, of course they are more focused where there are mothers and siblings in mind, which of course they'd probably be more knowledgeable on childrens products in that regard. Besides, I'm pretty sure every forum has it's bad eggs really.

He's a size 5 ....... :D

That is OK, they do from 3.5 to 7.5, and the only size missing is a 6. So, they do have a 5!!!!! In black!!!! With no front tab!!!! And cheap as chips for someone who needs to buy extra feed because of the snow!!!!!

I think they look OK

Especially for 12.99!!!!!

Or these...

Oily leather, real leather, you would have to cut off the unacceptable front tab but they do have the much coveted stitched sole, size 5 at £41 free delivery.
