I am wondering if your horse/s were home as VS at a livery yard where others come and go would you care for them exactly the same? I wonder how many people do all of the *extras* and things for/to their horses that they truly do not think they have to just because they are concerned about being criticized by the other liveries?
Maybe you do it out of competition or because you do not want ridicule or you want to have others feel you do not neglect your horse? Let's face it, what is needed and pertinant to some may not be to others. We all have differing values of horse care and many things are over the top and pampering just for us imo while others feel a horse is neglected without it.
If you had your horse at home would it be the same or are you willing to admit that you do some things because there are many eyes on you and feel you have to? I am NOT saying not caring for your horse properly...I am just talking about the extra things that may not matter in the scheme of things to a horses health and well being
