ohh wow tia and baggage, they're both gorgeous! palamino and grey are two of my favourite colours, and tia your daughter looks like a really nice little rider... thanks for sharing these
Here's a handful of mine; sorry but they are all the same photos - don't have any others uploaded. The yellow flowers in some of the photos aren't ragwort by the way - they are goldenrod that you guys grow as flowers but here they are weeds!
ahhh lovely horses was hoping you would post some thanks.Just out of interest is there a prefered colour where you are. What sought of money do they fetch?
I love sorrels, but these are not sought after, hence I have the palominos, grullas, buckskins and roans which are my seller ons as these are the colours that people want.
Mine are generally sold for somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000. Most of mine are sold to people further afield though as people around here don't normally spend as much money as I ask for my horses.
Don't know about the half horse bit though lol it could have done with a bit more body for that I think maybe.
Think it may have done well in the trotting races though lol.
..... only jesting no really I love quarter horses they really are lovely and I know palomino is probably one of my fave colours.
Caz
I have limited knowledge of horses...know nothing of breeding...but I do own a qualter breed morgan horse....he is just a pet and I rescued him...suprise suprise
he looks stunning to me...esp in summer when he is gleaming....he is a muscular looking horse...well made, strong as an ox
Aww the Appy foal is doing absolutely great! You know he injured his leg? Huge gash but is healing really well. He leads, ties and follows you around - he is so affectionate and she has high hopes for him as a potential showjumper for her in a few years. I think he will make around 16hh so a decent size for her.
I keep meaning to take photos of the foals but right now the sun has barely come out so am waiting for a nice sunny day to show them off properly. They are such sucks though - love being cuddled.
when you dismount drop your reins on the floor and walk away from the horse how do you train your horse to stand ther by itself without running away, most horses would run off
I will do...it may be a scan...cos I dont have any recent ones...or a picci of a picci.......do u have any piccies of morgan xs.....for all I know mine could be a welsh section a or summit...lol
but is what the rescue center told me and other horsi people when they have seen him.
Do u know what there traits are..e,t,c.....mine was pretty badly abused...so would explain his bossy temper
, he does not like strangers but is very doting to those he is familiar with, very clever, very strong and hardy, hates being indoors
You tell them to stand. The know to stand because when you are teaching them this, you leave a long lead on their halter which they will stand on if they go to walk off. To be honest I don't generally have to do that with most of mine, I just tell them to stand and they will.
