Here is one of our guys. He is a foundation bred QH, even though he has a show halter on he is not a 'halter type' horse (thank the Lord!). I did some halter classes with him when he was younger just to get him used to the shows really. He didn't like it as I think he found it quite boring just standing around (you could ride him all day long and he would take you through the night also, but standing with makeup on wasn't 'ranchy' enough for Bailey) He did well in halter though - surprisingly, we got some Grand Open Stallion awards and qualified for the world show .. which wasn't bad as he was only 2 at the time. The picture above was taken after he won the Grand at the Garden of England AQHA show. We got a lovley bronze, but my favourite pic was taken after the class when we went for some 'well deserved' grass.
I still giggle at the thought of me taking him to the world show against the 16h + monsters LOL!! I think we may stand out just a bit ! His lines include TEJ x 3, Driftwood x2 with some doc bar and a dash of hancock in there too I believe. I like the ranch type QH. You can sit on his back and almost feel what the cowboys felt when riding his ancestors. He looks like a polar bear at the moment with all the white fluff!
I love QH's and wouldn't be without them as a breed. There are so many different types out there and we are really blessed to find 3 that are a joy to be around
