Badminton 2025

I wouldn’t feel too sorry for Aistis- the horse demonstrated how he is trained IMO. The guy was pulled up for dangerous riding last year (quite rightly so, it was scary) and then complained about if forcefully, and he is a thoroughly unpleasant character on Social Media.

Anyone know who the commentators are? I missed the start - joined just at the point Jessie's horse spat the dummy out! Poor Jessie but loved how he handled it, very quiet and sympathetic

John Kyle is the main one and think he is having guest riders join him.

We've got Piggy with John now and I appreciate she's giving us a bit more explanatory commentary - and I appreciate she's always willing everyone along to do a good test
Yes she does and I love the way that she always says 'good girl' etc throughout her commentary. And she gets so enthusiastic commentating on the x country, she's fabulous

Interview with Alice C on the Basninton fb page - she didn’t ride Topspin this morning until going into dressage warm up!

My feelings are that it couldn't have happened to a nicer person 😏. Karma!

Ryuzu Kitajima rode a lovely test (mistakes notwithstanding). One of the very few horses moving mostly in a correct frame, working over the back with the nose in front of the vertical. Something one would like to see more of.

From the bio page on badminton about Low Moor Lucky (tom Woodward's horse)

"was acquired seven-years ago aged from the breeder. The horse was nicknamed Lucky as he was given ‘one last chance’ to be backed at the age of nine-years-old after being ‘very, very naughty to ride away’. Lucky completed his first event aged 11."

Fair play!

Ive just managed to get into the CMH app through my Firestick. Tried a couple of times this morning with no luck but then saw on the FB post that some people were now managing to log in.

First I tried via the website on my iPad. I reset my password again and it actually let me log in! First thing I did was cancel my subscription. Depending on how access and coverage go this year I may reconsider for 2026 but I didn’t want to take the chance of being locked out again, then forgetting, then losing the money again next year!

Once that was done I logged out of the website (apparently you can only be logged on to one device now), went back to my Firestick to clear cache and uninstall the app. Reinstalled it and then was successful in logging in. I don’t know if this would work for everyone but posting what I did in the hope it helps anyone still struggling.

And through all that I have still not had a response to the support ticket request sent in to CMH at 9am yesterday.

But I’m now been watching the dressage for half an hour with a good picture and no technical issues.

Tom’s write up on the Badminton page almost made me well up. A horse with that history and it says it was his first horse coming off ponies and they moved up the levels together from BE100. Things dreams are made from!
Lovely. Though it looks like someone else started him and got him to Novice.

Fair enough, just went off the write up on Badminton. Still though, to take the lead at you and your first horse’s first 5* is no mean feat.

Dubs walking out of the arena on a really long rein looking relaxed and very pleased with himself for a good job done well.

Super test.

ETA I’ve migrated from Badminton TV, and am able to watch the CMHtv feed fine from their website on our not terribly smart tv which doesn’t support the CMHtv app.
