Badminton 2025

Missed Will Oaksden this morning and joined part way through poor Emma Thomas with Icarus - he was not playing ball today!

Just wondering - is there an option for us to watch the cross country from the start if we miss the start? I have to go out tomorrow morning but don’t want to miss any!

Yes- you can rewind the live stream if it's still streaming, or they put it up straight away at the end so you can just watch it back

Loved Ian Cassells test today - a few wee things to work on, but there is a mid-20's in there, it was so harmonious and soft, lovely lengthening of the frame in the extended work

Totally agree - really beautiful riding and horse going forwards into a soft contact on/slightly in front of the vertical, never getting tight

It wouldn't let me rewind the dressage live stream yesterday. I wanted to watch some on my lunch break and there was no live action as they were having a lunch break too but I couldn't rewind.

I see today they seem to have split the sessions so hopefully they will do similar tomorrow. I like to start from the beginning and watch as live but don't want to have to wait until it is all over if I miss the beginning!

I was very pleased that CMH website has everyone separate so you can watch the ones you want easy peasy but I would be better pleased if it wouldn't freeze and buffer every 60 seconds!! Given up 😭 The smart TV app was working okay last night so will hopefully get to watch some faves with some maths involved later.

Oh that’s odd- I rewound the dressage yesterday no problem. But I do have a normal premium subscription rather than just BadmintonTV so perhaps it’s different

That’s your internet connection unfortunately- it does use a lot! If you're on good wifi it never buffers

Maybe it was just a glitch yesterday or maybe it is a full subscription v Badminton one.

I wish there was a skip forward button too, 30 seconds or something for skipping through gaps.

A lot of quite tense horses- I've never seen Vitali quite so close to the edge! I feel for Tom and Ros who produced beautiful work but just marred by small errors. Oli's test wasn’t as pleasing to my eye, but it was absolutely spot on (bar the first and last halts, which I thought were marked quite generously!)

For anyone wanting to see a bit more of the xc course before tomorrow, @LEC has done a great job of trying to capture it in a quick vlog on YouTube.

Bettina Hoys commentary on the last session, was everything you want hear from a commentator, clear, concise, honest and so so informative and obviously came from a lady who has been there, done that and is continuing to coach riders across the world….listen and learn summed it up…

But OT's grey was so short in the neck and behind the vertical throughout the test that the lower jaw was not that far from touching the underside of the neck!! Even in the 'extended' walk which is supposed to show the neck being horizontal throughout with maximum reach while still being soft to the contact.

How the horse could see or breathe properly through that test is beyond me.

From a welfare point of view I thought it was very poor, and it was incredibly disappointing to see it marked so highly.

Wasn’t great, was it? And how you can give a halt a 9 when it's right in front of you and the rider is sawing on its mouth is beyond me. Yes, she was square and still, but that is not a nice picture. His hands were so low throughout, pinning the mare down

He’s always done that odd shift side to side to get the horse square as well.

I thought his older horse looked incredibly poor; ribby and with no top line. I know they're super fit but even so, it didn't look good!

Haven't seen the dressage yet but will hopefully catch up with everything tomorrow.

Just an observation but why do top level event riders find riding flying changes so difficult? Lots of them are doing a pretty solid test which is then punished for muddled changes. I remember Carl commentating on this a few years ago.

I’m just trying to catch up now, can’t believe ClipMyHorse doesn’t work with Chromecast!! No idea how I’ll get it on the TV 😭
I've got it working ok with the Amazon Firestick - ie. by using the CMH App downloaded to the Firestick - which I think is similar tech to Chromecast.

Assuming your CMH Badminton Subscription works ok on your phone / tablet, can you cast direct from your phone to your TV? Or do you have some way of connecting a laptop by HDMI cable to your TV?

Unfortunately, from my recent experience with CMH ref the Kentucky streaming, they are not the fastest in getting back to you - 24-48hrs.
