barefoot, I am getting seriously worried.

I've found the best trims are often done by the council. 😉
A lot of hooves look like they would be much improved and strengthened by more walking on the roads.
and the advantage is that firstly the council don't report you for adverse comments and secondly as a council tax payer you are paying for the tarmac anyway. May as well make full use of it. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

admin have told me they are dealing with a series of complaints re this thread's comments. They have asked for evidence re one of my posts under question. I have given an explanation. That has been limited as much of the evidence has been removed. My comments referred to feet on the GTL site which I had taken to be alive as several others did and that I felt stupid when GTL amended their post to say of course they were cadavers which I should have realised. .

If my post is removed that will be the reason, if the thread is closed that will be the reason and similarly if I am banned from the forum. I had a pm from another poster today whose posts were amended/removed and they told me they had been banned I'm not sure where from.

No idea if anyone else is in the same position.

I have just been advised this by admin which crossed with my posting no 423.

Seems like I've been blocked too and I've never even so much as commented on there, so clearly someone is 👀
So, given that they are looking on here...you're absolutely wrong about horses not landing heel first. This is a basic and fundamental principle. You're peddling mis-information to those people who need correct advice the most. People who are desperate and who have been failed by vets and farriers (although owners can't abdicate responsibility. It's your horse. Read, watch, learn, educate yourself. There's no excuse). You cannot trim a good hoof. It may look superficially improved on the outside but the internal structures have to develop too and that's not an overnight process. The hairline patently demonstrates as much.
If you're so confident in your methods, you wouldn't block people. You'd be able to fully justify your process.
Rockley Farm is the original and best and Nic really does know what she's talking about. For anyone wanting good, sound advice, start there.

I saw the reposted post you’re speaking about. It appeared on my newsfeed although I don’t follow those pages. I never saw the original though.

I feel baffled by the T&C’s. If they admitted it was a cadaver and others have stated it then why can’t you repeat what they said 🤔

Honestly feels as if admin is being threatened right now, with lawsuits, from various quarters that have previously come under discussion on the forum.

I do hope that is not the case and it's an abundance of caution on their part/posters that disagree saying 'this crosses the line into libel'.

:(

GTL do actually have full planning - i used to follow them on FB in the early days before they got shouty & weird. Big purpose built barn for shelter.

Bit dull for the horses IMO but I always thought ok for rehab purposes back when grass was sinful.
That’s a shame (and quite unusual for those operators putting in the ‘horse tracks’), but falling foul of planning usually focuses a lot of attention on what is actually taking place, and tends to throw a general spanner in whatever the works are.

Our council provide three grades of rasp, very smooth, normal and rough. I have to be careful to stick to walk when using the rough as if I go faster it files the hoof rather quickly, though it goes back to being normal after a few weeks of traffic. Shod horses have had nasty experiences sliding about on the smooth rasp.

Given how litigious they seem to be a screenshot of any FB page quoted would help on here - it would be a shame to see any more posters on the naughty step.

Also staying away from saying anything personal about individuals concerned.....

the cult followers ability to repeat the jargon word perfect is amazing.

Setchell seems very strange. She posts lots about vets are rubbish etc and I saw posts that horses are cured with their trim, don't need meds, vets are making lots of money out of prescribing drugs etc etc Not the reasonable approach of considering every case and every drug etc on it's merit for that particular horse. Most of all she hates science and seems to regard just about all of it, except hers, as rubbish.

then I saw that her qualification was a science degree.
Could always ask what kind of science, and where precisely the degree is from?
Then indulge in hollow laughter....
If all else fails, one cannot even persuade one of our cash strapped, struggling, ‘newer universities’ to accept one - can always buy oneself an internet correspondence course degree, in pretty much any area one can invent.
Job done.

The owner of Ernie was issued a cease and desist order on the HM public page.
thanks for that info.

Can I just move away from the discussion on our new found friends at Hoofing marvellous for a moment and remind anyone who hasn't found it of the FB site link below. If the link doesn't work then search FB under "The study of the equine hoof"

I'm sure many are on there already but for anyone else then there is tons of info, lots and lots of discussion and opposing views an agreemnt of many professionals and ordinary trimmers. All very nicely discussed. :D:D

I was a full time science teacher working in a secondary school in Cornwall, UK, with a very prosperous career ahead of me. I have a BSC (Hons) in Marine Biology

definitely. If you (one) are going to post anything get a copy of your evidence otherwise the naughty step is going to be very overcrowded. :D:D:D. Also don't post on here pics taken from their sites. That will give rise to complaints and Admin will have to remove them.

finally have a look at this FB site. It is well worth a read.

posts 22/8 scary horror (note GWT is just a misspelling it is GTL on the X ray)

also post Aug 19th Gawsworth track livery.

just in case the link doesn't work search FB under equine scientia

Which qualification is relevant to? trimming the fins on seahorses, preventing them eating seagrass?
I’m missing the scientific connection with equine nutrition and physiology, here.
Good to learn secondary school teachers are becoming very prosperous, though, hopefully not only in Cornwall.

Thanks, but not joining Facebook just to confirm my suspicion it’s for and full of head cases!

Just for everyone's info. someone is button pushing on this thread. Parts of some posts have gone.

FO I have joined you, no longer on GTL FB page. :D:D:D I have never even posted on there.

Just for info GTL have a HHO user account. They posted on here previously to refute something that had gone on on their yard.

thanks, yes I realise although I don't think in this section of the forum you have to be a member to read it so I think we can assume anyone can read it and contact admin.
I haven't read the old GTW thread for a long while but it is this one.

really? if you are very interested in barefoot, ems/PPid as I am then it is the place to be to find out info and to get links to further info. zoom sessions, training etc etc.

I have noted that I am regarded now as a "head case"

Ha, ha!
Still not tempted, but I’m sure you’ll be in excellent company!
