has the clip gone or is it just me tht cant see it?
I think it is a bit academic, tbh, horse or no horse, travelling at over 100 mph is an automatic driving ban anyway, no?
I've watched it once, but now it wont seem to play. Perhaps it's my comp. Anyway, you will clearly see that the bike-rider, AT THE POINT OF PASSING THE HORSE was riding in an entirely responsible and correct manner. You will also notice him nod to the rider, presumably in acknowledgement of the girls thanks.

Some horse riders just need to take a chill pill and if they don't feel safe on the roads then don't hack out.
.......
I would be interested to know what others opinions are on the correct speed on a main A road with good visibility a car / vehicle should pass a horse(s) out hacking (which do not look spooked etc)?
.......
What a stupid comment. Maybe we should apply this to every day life? If you don't want to be stabbed, don't leave your house. If you don't want to get fat, don't eat any food.
No, not so stupid when you consider the extremes of reaction from some riders.
My point was to highlight that if a rider feels all traffic should pass them doing 5mph then perhaps hacking on the roads where cars etc are isn't the best thing for them.
Riders shouldn't expect all other road users to come to an almost complete standstill just because they are passing a horse - this is not aimed at all riders BTW just a very small minority.
I can see what you mean, I think. I do however get VERY ticked of with the fact that I ride on rural lanes and get the odd idiots in vans, tankers, cars etc screeching past, revving etc. It really does only take a few seconds extra to slow down and go around us. I'm very curteous to everyone on the roads and I find it disheartening that people can't commit a few extra seconds to their own safety, other peoples and an animal's.
not good .. but where's her hi-viz!!
Blimey! No mention of what happened to the horse and rider so am hoping it was a saint. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-19758459
ETA - just seen the North Yorkshire Police press release which praises horse's "very good road sense" http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/index.aspx?articleid=9510
Pathetic specimen of a man. Shame he didn't total his bike a bit further on.
