But everyone knows the risks of riding without a hat, its the same as the risks of smoking, which I am sure everyone also knows, yet people still smoke. Sometimes I will ride without a hat on, and I don't expect people to comment on it if I post a picture...

The photos are stunning they really are. I dont have a problem with them at all. Its the comments saying
"dont comment on not wearing a hat" that rile me!
And I can honestly 100% say that I have NEVER ridden a horse without a hat on, and never would. I had a serious fall a few years ago that had I not been wearing a hat I would probably be dead. I also had a fall last year where I was knocked out for several minutes and again I would hate to think what would have happened had I not been wearing a hat!

Why does it rile you? So what if she said that? She was showing photos of her horses. She didnt ask for any critism did she? Did she ask if it was irresponsible?
Its her bloody head. If she falls off and kills herself, its HER issue, for HER and HER family. It wont affect you in the slightest.
I used to ride without a hat all the time, I rarely do it now, maybe occassionally pop on Fly in the field and make her walk me back up the field from the bottom but most of the time I have a hat.
Again thats MY decision and if I fell off and died, it wouldnt affect anyone on here.

Yes riding without a hat is dangerous, no i wouldnt do it, but this forum has been nothing but complaining lately and its just another thing that has been argued to death and could make for one less 'rant' At the end of the day, there will always be people that take risks and ride without one, their the ones who'll pay the consequences so don't let it rile you!

I've had a few bad falls too, but sometimes when I am on Bertha I will hop on without a hat on, knowing the risks.
Why are people on these forums so obsessed with shoving their own views down other's throats.
