Bitting advice please lovely people
5yo ISH x WB mare, backed September, in light work at the moment due to lack of light and weather.
Can work beautifully into the contact but prone to "I know best" tantrums which result in her either putting her head down and attempting to tow me out of the saddle, or sticking her ears up my nose.
In a hanging cheek she liked the mouthpiece but the weight of the bit caused bruising to the bars
Currently in a hollow mouth but I believe the thickness of the bit is increasing her opening her mouth objections - she certainly sticks her head up more which could also be due to the nutcracker action of the snaffle.
Really didn't go well in Myler Comfort Snaffle - caused lots of head wagging.
So I need light weight, not too thick, possibly double jointed but not myler style...
Although she can get strong in the contact she isn't hard to stop etc and once we've got through her objection, which usually only lasts a few minutes she works lovely, just want to find something she's comfortable in.
