Glad she made it ok!

You might want to check if you need a rabies tag for her - some states are stupidly strict (your vet should issue one based on her AHC rabies vaccine). NY were anal about it

I feel like I checked and Co doesn’t require it but I could be wrong. I still need to license her etc!

Ps thank you!

Not relevant to the current discussion but when this happened I thought of you since you’ve liked Arizona108808. And I’m so glad Pepper is with you!! Great times I see from the photos. It snowed in Tucson 🥶🥶

Wait what! I’m heading there Tuesday I do not want snow 🤣🤣
It won’t snow!! I happened to be there for it. This guy told me it was the fifth time it snowed in 20 years. I will say it’s supposed to be warm but pack layers. It’s been a cold winter there.
Have fun and if you need good hiking spots let me know.

you've been forgiven then :)

Properly forgiven. And she has lots of new doggie friends which is great. What’s not so great is she is completely taking the piss out of anyone who walks her, pretending she does not walk at heel on a loose lead!! Little minx! She doesn’t remotely try it on with me so I can’t really fix it 🙈

My dog does exactly the same 😂 embarrassing isn't it but I do think it's often its the way you hold the lead and how you correct them.

I held my friends dog a while back and this dog drags my friend everywhere yet within 5 minutes she walked perfectly with me, equally as embarrassing!

Out of interest, what would you do if you found the same saddle online but $400 cheaper from a site that had reduced it (other sites all the same price as what the fitter is charging). I would prefer to purchase from the fitter but the callout was already $250 which doesn't come off the purchase price, and $400 is a lot of money in difference...

Saddle is on trial so can be returned.

If he was difficult to fit I'd just have that wariness that despite being the same saddle there might be some variations in them? Also will it affect you using the fitter again?

I’m sure it’s exactly the same saddle tbh. And yes probably, but that’s not a small amount of money. Argh, frustrating when that happens.

I have probably another $700 or so to spend on pads, cinch’s, headstalls etc so I’ll make sure I direct that their way :)

I'm a wimp so wouldn't do this but perhaps you could let her know that it's $400 cheaper elsewhere and ask if she'd take $250/visit cost less to buy from her?

I'd be wary of jeopardising a relationship if she was a good fitter and you might need her again. It sounds like she isn't overcharging for the saddle, just that the other place is having a sale. But yeah, $400 is $400...

It's lovely by the way!

Yep that's what I've just done and we are all good. I felt terrible asking but... $400! That's his new saddle pad!

Blimey, le meuix looks cheaper by the second...

That looks a lovely saddle. I know absolutely nothing about western riding so I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on with the saddle and can't wait to see him with the rest of his gear on!

Eta - out of interest, is there a reason that western saddle pads are more expensive, such as they're more technical, or is it just that they are what they are kind of thing?
