She seems exhausted now but also tbh kinda annoyed with me. I feel weirdly on edge! And guilty. Ooof, wasn’t expecting that.

I think she almost doesn’t feel like my dog anymore at the moment but that’ll come back.

Mine sulks when we get back from holiday she is fine after a few days, she will be her old self in no time I'm glad you finally have her with you.

So glad she's arrived safely and hope you've had a good drive back.

Agree with the others, give it a couple of days and it will all be fine again. Mine also punishes me hugely and refuses to even acknowledge me if I go away without her. They come pre-programmed to know how to make us feel incredibly guilty 🙈

Much better today. I think I’m freaking out less! It was so strange I just got this huge feeling that I’d made a big mistake. Taking her from her life etc. but I had that exact feeling the days after with Boggle in the days after.

Nearly back in Colorado (thank god- Texas is definitely not on my list of places to live!)

Is there no chance of staying there?

There’s not very much or really any natural light. Which bothers me as I love working at a table with it streaming in! Whilst I’m very welcome in their area any time I am used to living alone and do feel I need my own space etc.

I only intended to stay a month or two and am still here but I think in another few months the light thing will become a bit of a bummer. I know it sounds silly but given I work from home a lot it’s fairly important to me!

note middle of quote removed!
Michen I had no idea you worked from home.
You seem to be travelling all the time
Glad Pepper is safe with you

I work from home in the sense I’m not office based. So when I’m seeing clients I am travelling which usually but not always involves a plane. My next work trip at the moment isn’t until the last week in march. Really varies!

So lovely that she can "ride" out with you - a proper family picture.:):)

She can around the barn trails although they are minimal. I’m in two minds re the roads by the barn. On one hand they are so much wider than the UK so I actually feel they are safer as you are less at risk of an idiot hitting you on a bend who’s come too fast. On the other hand the traffic is bigger and noisier. I think I will, but probably only in summer at 5am type thing. Although the traffic probably isn’t any more frequent than the country lanes we were on, it feels more serious somehow!

The other trails we go on she can’t really come on as dogs need to be on leads, whilst I would have her off lead anyway (as anyone does here with a well behaved dog) if there was no one around etc and it was a safe area ie no rattle snakes in spring summer, I’d want to be able to put her straight back on one which I can’t do from the back of a horse.

So it won’t be quite as lovely as the UK where we could go for hours together etc but it’ll mean I need to do my own exercise with her more outside of riding Bog so that’ll be good 🤣
