Brecon Sale Saturday 22nd July

When i first phoned up 'we' thought it was the same one from brecon so i was expecting a mark-up but not £1500, now we know its not, it is a completely different situation. i will be watching the advert as she is now on DD.

So the little cob that I liked at Brecon but didn't stay to bid on, which went for £200, is now on a fb page for £1000 ono

I'm not sure why people are surprised. The dealers take the risk by buying these cheap horses. They tidy them up, transport them home and then add a premium. Its been the same since horse auctions started!

Exactly, where do people think dealers get their stock from?

I'm not surprised but £800 profit, if they get the asking price, for giving a colt a bath and keeping it in a field for 5 days with the advert coming across as they know the horse inside out, at least keep it for more than a week!

Years ago I kept my horse on a livery yard which also acted as an overflow yard for the dealer across the road.

One day a horse came in, dropped off by the old owner, put in a stable and then 45 minutes later the prospective new purchaser turned up. The horse was in the dealer's ownership for less an hour before it was sold. I steered well clear when the dealer began her completely made up spiel of everything the horse had done whilst with them and what a sad sale it was, blah, blah, blah

She must know the market, it's a 13 month old colt may make 13h at a push so I wouldn't have thought he would be everyone's cup of tea, I only went to the sale to see if the Arab turned up but he did catch my eye for cuteness!

They don't tend to put them up, they sometimes put the prices up of the more expensive horses and people ask on their fb page what lots they are interested in went for.

I’m terribly saddened to see that Greendown Mandolin was at this sale, lovely lovely pony who was apparently mis sold to the vendor but even so didn’t deserve to end up at a sale.

Does anyone know what the pony made? Lot 99.

I hope he has landed on his feet

He wasn't at the sales, I think he was replaced by the grey mare with an Arabian x foal.
