They’ve let people enter three in previous years. The draw seems to have Harry at the start, middle and end, so I presume he may ride all three.

It’s a fabulous field. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m going for the first time in several years. We’ve had so many sad times around Burghley over the last seven years (people very poorly in hospital or dying) that we’ve not been able to go. We used to go every year. My husband proposed to me there, so it’s a special place. I’m just praying for good Burghley sunshine.

Gosh that really is a top field. Great to see so many new faces and Dan Jocelyn back as well as Jesse Campbell entered along with the stalwarts of int'l eventing.

Bring it on! I live close by but prefer to watch on Burghley TV.
Wow, Hurry and Tim have three rides. Not for the feint hearted! Interesting that Lordships Graffalo is running. The Olympics was probably just a prep run for Burghley 🤣

Me too. I was surprised, but I guess the close time zone and the close proximity of these Olympic Games makes it much less strenuous on the horses. Just a good 4* practice for a 5*!

Does anyone know why Yasmin is not running Banzai Du Loir, seemed the obvious run with not running at the Olympics ?

I little bit sad to see Roz running Walter so soon after the Olympics, but hope she does well.

Why?

I was at Burgham 4* that weekend and Valmy beats and Cooley roselant both competed there and that's the same standard as the olympics. In fact I think there're more that were at Burgham that are at Burghley. Ros (and the other riders) know their horses. I don't think it's a problem.

It was an 8 minute track on flat ground and a soft 4*.
A 4*S would be 6.5 mins so hardly any difference, in fact at a 4S you would sj on same day, the Olympics was split over 3 days.

They won’t run banzai over a tough track - he will end up somewhere softer like Pau or Maryland. I am not sure why as he has enough blood but Yasmin has only done the softer 5* in Luhmuhlen, Pau and Kentucky.

There is at least one 4* horse from Blair last weekend that is going to Burghley. Olympics was weeks ago!
