Burghley thread

Well they're not doing flexion tests at the trot up for a start.

No idea of the grey's background/history/what was said in the holding box etc so no idea why they represented but the right decision was made.

How is functional soundness different to actual soundness?

The grey was proper lame, why would you represent him?

The honest answer is that I’d hazard a guess, maybe 80% are functional sound and the rest very sound!

So the functional ones, on close examination are probably not truely even and/or are fairly heavily managed. The naked eye can only tell so much.

Do they get their entry fee back when spun as have a "vet certificate"?

Feel for her as horse is 17 so possibly last chance to start a 5* and its her first one.

Just 52 starters, is that a record?

Us Burghley tv viewers will still get our money’s worth on XC day because, although the start intervals will be lengthened so the day doesn’t finish too soon, we should see more footage of each combination on course.

Dressage coverage starts 9.45 am tomorrow.

ETA It was 52 presented at the trot up, one was spun, so 51 starters for the dressage assuming no more withdrawals.
