Burghley thread

Well aren't those weird timings and gaps in the second half of the field going to mess my maths right up!! 😬🙄
Good luck for today @Gamebird - I hope all goes well for your stewarding at the XC Warm-up, and that the riders get themselves to the Start Box on time. 🤞 I really enjoyed reading your " job description" for your stewarding role, but have to admit to being in awe at the responsibility! 😊

I agree with you re the gamesmanship as did Emily who politely said he is very competitive.
However his test was lovely very free flowing easy , accurate and expressive and as a result suitably marked .
Rosie did come in lit up and as a result it takes a brave person to do the correct thing and let go by putting your hands down and forward on what feels an unexploded time bomb.

What was sad was the judges were rightly watching the horse more than him and they missed how hard he was being on the poor horse, he was over marked in my opinion. Ros's test was free flowing, light and expressive, with lovely kind hands and no over bending.

Haven’t watched most of the dressage yet, but did watch Austin’s test on Salty and delighted for them! They’re one of my favourite combinations to watch XC and they’ve been so close so many times…

going to try and play catch up over the weekend and watch more of the Dr because I do find it educational, as don’t tend to watch a lot of Dr at any other time!

Thanks. It's a real privilege to do. Just watching Graffalo popping some fences...!

Loved ros’s test too , loved them both and agree Ros is the most beautiful kind rider .
They were both fabulous tests imo.

I’m not able to watch this year so I’m following the live scores online and this thread. Will watch the highlights tomorrow on the beeb.

Horse misunderstood the bounce at fence 7 and just ran off the brush at the top from the water. He kept going over the fence
Both walked away looking ok, horse a bit confused why they were no longer together
